brokers in RI are paid their fee by the landlord not the tenant so consulting a broker is worth doing. Craigslist works in our neighborhood and generally reflects more of what’s available at least on the east side (rather than zillow). There’s more stuff available in spring because folks like staying on the brown / med school cycle - this time of year there’s just not much turning over by comparison. Most brokers on Zillow also x post on craigslist anyway so either go to their brokerage websites directly or look on Craigslist. Zillow is a disaster under the hood and lots of folks around here (that aren’t corporate landlords) avoid it.

public transportation is a non-option with getting out at 11 but everything i said about traffic goes out the window.

going up will be heavy but easy in the afternoon 95% of the time

coming home will be easy outside of the occasional lane closures. If you look that up in advance, you can bypass a lot of it with Rt 1 from Dedham (next town over) all the way to the RI state line.

No everything has rolled over. You’ve been paying RI energy for the past few months. Unless you’ve gotten some communication from RI energy (which I have not) stating you need to do anything, you should be good

You'd be surprised at how random the traffic patterns are in Boston. Sometimes you just get dealt with an absolutely terrible hand (I don't commute, this is just my experience on occasional drives during the work week with random congestion). 11pm is no problem, but 2pm could vary.

This is what I would call an expert commute-- the kind of thing that is much easier to navigate when you have a year under your belt to contextualize it. At the very least, you should come out here and drive it once at noon to test your tolerance-- how tolerable really depends on the person.

I'm kind of surprised that any media outlet at all reporting it. The more legit outlets would ignore a story like this unless there's evidence of foul play, a traffic accident, or the discovery of the body was high profile enough where thousands of people saw a large emergency presence.

It doesn't really sound like this checks off any of those boxes. I'm guess GoLocal was just creeping the Instagram/Facebook of someone who made the initial "missing" post or something.

I think if you go online to your old national grid account, it will automatically take you to your account with RI energy? This is what I did. Even autopay details were transferred to my new account.

Better to just call them, I guess.

RI energy took over national grid the past 6 months I believe? My partner was calling them and they’re switching everything over to RI energy. I think it’s bc national grid is not handling it anymore? Not sure

Yes that’s outside of rush hours for sure. You could do that in 45 minutes that time of day depending on where in needham you where the office is. I’d start to get to know 109 and Rt 1 back ways instead of 95 as backup options. After 3 it starts to get slow again (going out of Boston) so you should be good!

That’s a huge difference. You’ll run into the occasional lane closure for road work or accident on the way home. Traffic might have heavy pockets on the way in but I’d guesstimate 1.5-2 hours roundtrip on a typical day, mostly on the lower end of that.

It’s a lot of gas and vehicle wear and tear but that’s way better.

This is actually a lot better. The 95/93 (128) split can still back up at this hour but it should be pretty smooth otherwise. In the evening you would be fine. With this commute you could plan on it being about an hour in and 45 minutes home plus whatever distance from the highway you are.

That said, you also will need to be mindful of overnight work which will significantly increase your commute time at night. From Needham you can divert to Rt. 1 easily enough etc. but you'll want to be in the habit of checking.

Ahh, I was hoping it was with the specific city council member. I spoke with one of the constituent associates early on in this saga and they referred us to the claims department and the head of sewer (both of whom we were already dealing with). I have not, however, reached back out recently about the latest issue so I’ll give it another go. Thank you again for this suggestion.
