Lmao 😂 🤣. How about the business owners pay their employees a living wage instead of expecting customers to do it. In Europe restaurant employees actually make a living wage because the laws demand it. Here in the states it's the only industry along with commission only gigs that the business owner can pay under the minimum wage and outsource it to consumers.

Definitely search this sub. This question gets asked quite often and there are plenty of other posts that will recommend specific towns or neighborhoods to look into.

Finding something for under $1000 is going to be extremely difficult in this market. You should be able to find something for under $1500 though.

Source? You got any peer-reviewed, published evidence that increased supply somehow increases rents?

And yes! We need cheap housing too and we should absolutely be building that, if private developers are unwilling then the city should work with them or build it themselves.

Per the US census, Rhode Island built 1300 housing units in 2021. That’s the worst in the country by a long shot, both in absolute terms and per capita. Our population is growing, and our housing stock is not. Rents have no where to go but to the moon until we get our shit together and actually build something

I’m currently renting in RI! My place now has 2 bathrooms but I’m not a huge fan of my landlord & their inability to handle maintenance issues so I’m thinking of moving when my lease is up. I definitely don’t have the money for a luxury place, but I’ll try expanding my search area. Thank you!

Hey! I'm a MA native, currently living in the Midwest, who will be moving to Providence this month! This commute is gonna be worse than what you're used to in the midwest, but it'll definitely be bearable around 2 and 11!

2PM going inbound, you'll probably be fine. Especially since you're not getting onto I93 at Westwood. 11PM there won't be many on the road. Will likely be around 50 min each way, but give yourself a 15 min buffer or so.

Welcome to New England!
