I've seen this play out over the last decade in the neighborhoods west of Dexter Park but with a happy ending. The south asian households tended to take pride in their surroundings which made progressive upper middle class white people feel safe enough to become their neighbors. Once a demographic tipping point was reached the south asian households started getting above market offers for their homes which they couldn't resist. Smith Hill largely went in the opposite direction with the Providence Housing Authority buying up homes for pennies on the dollar during the last recession and landlords renting to section 8 criminals instead of market rate working people.

the scene is set in a 1998 powder blue nissan stanza, parked askew on a crusty gray snowbank in olneyville. the driver, adorned in a puffy jacket and bruins beanie, meat sauce lingering on both sides of their cheeks, is asleep with their right blinker still flashing. stale fries and celery dreams waft through the interior, with a hint of exhaust fumes from the barely plowed street snow blocking the tailpipe. the driver stirs, yearning for hydration after consuming three times their recommended daily amount of sodium. upon opening their eyes, the 5th weiner greets them from the mostly emptied bag still resting on their chest. with their noble purpose clear in plain sight, the driver proceeds to complete their honorable quest they had began some hours ago.

It wasn't that it was a late order. He was sleeping and tried to fight an employee after he was reminded of the policy. Then he provoked the employees and proceeded to record. I updated the post with a link to a snippet of his viral video. In the video, there is a clear sign of the policy.

That's a shame. Imo there are certain demographics we don't think about that are disproportionately targeted. A mcdonalds worker making minimum wage and then getting harassed/shamed is like the perfect example.

I find the term a little flawed but slandering people over a late mcdonalds order is some grade-A karen behavior.

Thank you for taking the time to understand. The employees need all the support they can get. I spoke to one young lady there, and it breaks my heart that I cannot help them any other way.

Please help share the truth with family and friends regarding this situation. And please don't judge their work abilities at this moment. They are under high stress.
