If you're looking for traditional banh mi then Asian Bakery is the way to go. Nothing else comes close IMO.

I lived next door to an “illegal” chicken coop.

They were lazy as hell, and would just dump gallon buckets of feed once per week. Ended up with massive rat infestation.

Every car at my place, ended up with damage from rats chewing wires. I had to scrub away the charred carcass of a few that got into my matters wires.

Enforcement wouldn’t do a single thing, in the two years I was there.

This one. Best around. Family owned can't go wrong. The bbq one is amazing.

Came here to say this! It may be a chain… but they source local ingredients, their pizza is AWAYS fire and I’ve never not been able to park in their lot

I definitely second the recommendations for Asian Bakery on Broad Street. Probably the best around.

A close second is the Lotus Pepper food truck. I haven’t seen him in a few years, but their banh mi is also great in a pinch.

It’s really the only response. There is no better in PVD.

Pailin on Cranston St is solid. They are a Cambodian spot, but their Bahn Mi fucks pretty hard

Asian Bakery on Broad St is fantastic. I haven't tried many of the alternatives so I can't say how they compare.

Just a little over the boarder in Cranston, I frequent Banh mi & bubble tea on Park Ave, next door to Cranston East HS, great sandwiches. The combo sandwich is the one we get all the time.

Im at toritomo right now and got a pork belly banh mi and very disappointed. Doesn’t taste anything like any other normal banh mi sandwich I’ve had. They’ve put too much of their flavor on this banh mi and not enough traditional banh mi flavor. Literally ate one bite and stopped.

As far as cities go I think providence police is ok. Cops used to be way worse when it weed was still illegal.

I was trying to phrase the same point and I read yours. The only person I've heard claim the city is better than or immune to these issues was the outgoing Chief of Police, but I can't really recall anyone saying that it's really worse here than anywhere else.

If you're a woman you're fine for the most part. I have male friends who were profiled, but nothing came of those interactions beyond hard feelings etc.
