I like walking around Fox Point. Start at the Pedestrian Bridge (free), and walk up Wickendon. There will probably be some food trucks nearby.
Browse at Nostalgia, a fun vintage shop. Go upstairs and downstairs.
Grab a slice at Felinis (NY style) or Pizza Marvin (Sicilian). Or grab tacos outside on Ives St.
Walk over the highway bridge to Fox Point Park, and up to Narragansett Brewery. Some good beers on tap. Not your father's gansett.

POP in Olneyville. A pop culture museum. Free to get in (they sell everything).

The Farmers Market on Saturdays and The Flea are both free. Food trucks, coffee and even beer and spirits are close by. Both are held inside at Farm Fresh RI on Sims Ave. They're held outside during the warmer months.
Check to see if there's an exhibit at Waterfire Arts Center. They're generally free, but accept donations.

The venues are a couple of minutes apart. You can even walk if you like.

Go to a planetarium show there. It's really cheap, and very relaxing.
It's also free to walk around the whole park.

Askew has a lot of low entry fee shows too!

I thought wide-spread use of pesticides were a huge part of the problem. The brick is interesting, but I don’t feel like it addresses the actual problem with the bees.

Natural History Museum at Roger Wms Park is really cheap -- under $5. Last time I went, so was admission to the Botanical Gardens (and the citrus trees there should be in bloom now: the smell is heavenly.

Isn’t that the purpose of the bricks? I mean if it’s ineffective that’s a problem, but wasn’t the brick developed with the idea of conservation of bees?

Freeplay cost $10 on the weekends for unlimited arcade games.
Also check out Dusk and AS220, they have shows that cost 10-15 bucks to get in. Not sure your music interests.

Electromagnetic Pinball Museum in Pawtucket. $10 to get in, 60+ machines all set to free play, and you can stay as long as you want. It’s pretty awesome.

It's more like an antique store than a thrift store, but Pop sounds like a place you guys would like.

Conservation means protecting and securing wild habitat. This approach works at saving and building populations where ideas like this brick get clicks and shares. It might work but saving habitat always works and always benefits more than just your target species.
The city should be planting native wild flowers and building habitat in wood lots that promote bee colonization.
