This is exactly why I'm doing this survey. The proposal boasts about using public input from these meetings, but I didn't even know they existed until way after they stopped having them.

Other than the shootings, stabbings, and home invasions, I have nothing but good things to say about Providence. Though I do think the burger scene is weak. And it really shouldn't be so difficult to find a decent steak & cheese grinder.

Only reason I heard of it is because I follow a good number of local pols and reporters on Twitter. Otherwise, I never would have known.

They seem pretty community minded there, but I’d rather not bother them til I have money to spend there

My thinking is that if he’s unsure of where he could find an invite, he could reach out to rock spot because whoever is working there might be have an invite or they could at least point him in the right direction

Safe? Sure. Financially reasonably is relative. Rents can be expensive and downtown is not going to be the place with some diamond in the rough with cheaper rent. Some building have limited parking available. I'd probably just google "providence monthly parking" to get an idea of what rates are like.

Not sure I’d say parking is hard to come by downtown. People in RI are scared of traffic, parking, etc so if it involves effort it’s “difficult” haha
One thing that IS true is how absurd it is that apartments get built downtown with no parking. I looked at a new apt building in the Jewelry District and they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about parking (“we are still figuring out a plan”). Even the Aloft Hotel got built with no parking.
Anyways, there’s plenty of monthly garages. There are SOME apartments where it’s a part of the building. Obviously it’s not included. You should be able to find something closer than 5 min but if it’s cheapest you’re looking for it’s fine. PVD is generally safe.

Parking is plentiful and easy to come by downtown - if you can get over paying for it. If that is your problem, here is excellent news: Downtown and the local colleges are cleverly arranged so that day to day life and attending classes are easily accomplished without using a car at all!

Overnight parking isn’t allowed on most streets downtown, even with a permit.
