If Somerville or Brookline were in RI, they would be expensive.

Somerville and Brookline would be better towns to live in than Providence itself, IMHO.

This is great. I was at a webinar (put together by BSAS) two days ago that presented some of the research behind this type of therapy. This specific webinar was about how it helped people with Alcohol use disorder. It looks so promising, I hope it passes (doubt it). It might be useful to get some brown researchers involved and emphasize the controlled nature of the Therapy because the usual ignorant suspects with a 50 year old medical degree that never updated themselves will be against it (yup, I’m bitter about this man). Best of luck!

It’s hard now because of the weather but going to the Dexter Park playground when it’s nicer out will definitely be a way.

How old is the kid? Edit: I ask because we have a two month old now, in addition to the other one. Just curious if they are the same age.

Some armchair psychology, for what it's worth:

You don't think I think that's my opinion. You don't even think you're proving something wrong by reframing it to show it's absurdity.

You're just being difficult and mean and like choosing to use phrasing like "did you forget" you're acting out your insecurity and trying to feed your ego by putting down someone else on the internet.

Focus back on the welfare of the children and helping constructive conversation. I should, as well.

Note for others reading this: My deleted comment was about how the knowledge and particular job of the doctors just makes doing a bad thing worse. You decide if there's any chance it was anywhere near "children don't deserve counseling, and no one should attempt to identify abuse". I'll add that in a possible context we're not aware of (namely one where there was a clear therapeutic reason to ask what the doctors asked), their question may have been a good one. I would still be concerned about how and why it was reported, with the fact that context wasn't provided being not the only issue.

Facebook does tend to have more scams, but asking to be texted is not necessarily a red flag.

  1. The person might prefer to have all their messages in one place and not receive FB messages; it is an extra place to have to check.
  2. Once you text them they have your real phone number; they are tired of wasting time getting those from people.
  3. Facebook pre-fills a message to the poster with "Is this available?" and it's super annoying. People just hit "send" when they may not really be interested in order to be be able to revisit the listing later (because they haven't figured out you can save posts to revisit them later.)

The check was the deposit. I gave it before officially signing the lease, and they confirmed it would be returned if I didn’t take the unit after all. I live in a newer building with high demand on the East Side, and it was to hold my place until all the docs were signed. Then first month was due before move in day.
