The property owner controlled the liquor license, and put into place draconian restrictions about what the bars could and couldn’t do (especially about using the patio) that it was impossible for anyone to be successful there. And my understanding was he didn’t “lose” the license, he just didn’t want to go through the process of renewing it for them.

Not going to say anything about the owner of the building because I know nothing. However Far West closed because the owners moved to New Orleans. And High Dive closed because the building owner lost the liquor license. I've been to both places often enough to get that info from both of them before they closed.

My friend lives there and they like it a lot. The units are nice and management has always responded to them quickly. Every time I've visited it's been quiet and everyone seems friendly. They have no complaints anyways. The price is kind of rough though

Hey , I don't live at room and works, but I know a couple of things about the area. It's on the west end, probably cheaper than other neighborhoods in the city but that group of mills over there is very nice. In the mill you have Knead donuts, phenomenal donut shop. Behind you will be long live beer works. It's a popular brewery, and I believe the two places share a courtyard. The courtyard is beautiful. I guess the idea of the mill is to live there and work there? I'm not entirely sure. Anyways, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy but I wouldn't really worry about my safety if I lived there. A bit run down, though. Anyways, wish I knew more
