Crimes of opportunity do happen regularly in the rougher (and sometimes not so rough) areas of Providence. Nearly everybody carries a valuable phone.
The media doesn't cover that.

Correction: This actually happened in Elmhurst. River Ave & View Street (near Pleasant Valley Parkway). But the kid was caught on Atlas Street in Wanskuck.

I'd order the adult coffee milk, but that sangria is criminal.

Nicer and newer? Are places in Manchester from the 1400s? Because looking at Zillow it feels like every other place in Providence is from 1890

Waaait…..you said it’s cheaper here than in NH? That can’t be right. The housing rates are almost as high as Boston, honey. I love it here for many reasons but affordability isn’t one of them. Don’t move here thinking it’s cheaper than NH.

Good to know, thanks.
I was thinking of moving to nh to be closer to family but it seems so isolated up there.

Providence is a really great city. Like any area there are neighborhoods to avoid, etc. anything providence doesn't have you can find in Boston, which is not that far at all. I personally ducking love the area. Crazy good food scene, too. Like, unexpectedly so.
Don't forget we got more taxes here.

Just did the same, and looks comparable. I thought it was a nice city, not dirty. But then again I've never been and these are just things I've heard. Isn't it a college town, or no?

I hate to break it to you, but Providence is one of the most expensive places to live in New England, highly doubtful it's cheaper than where you are.
But yeah, you will meet people here. 24 is a good age to be in Prov.

I used to regularly walk from Douglas ave, to downtown at night. Never had a problem. saw some sketchy people and whatnot, but was never in fear for my life. I lived on Goddard St. I wouldn't suggest a woman walk alone at night around there, but a couple walking during the day? Where exactly do you live, if you dont mind me asking...
