Forrest’s is great! One of the best things in Taunton, and probably the only reason to come here.

It closed 24 years ago yesterday. The Hampton Inn & Suites now occupies the property.

Hi! I don’t know if I can post links here but there’s a Rhode Island local who has a blog that lets you filter restaurants by city and “vibe” that you’re going for. Buns and bites dot com. Just select Providence and then you can filter by occasion or food type. She has a lot of great recommendations, you won’t be disappointed.

It really depends what your priorities are. Every neighborhood has pros and cons.
Fox Point is the most well rounded neighborhood in my opinion: walkable, nice architecture and curb appeal, good shops, diverse population.
Hope has the best most neighborhoody Main Street.
College Hill has great architecture but it’s only main drag (Thayer) is basically a student ghetto, so it’s really not that walkable.
Mount Hope has nice architecture and is a short drive to a lot of places but isn’t that walkable.
Wayland has great architecture, nice parks, and a nice main square, but is sleepy and boring (great for families but maybe not for non-families).
Federal Hill/West End have great night life and are walkable but can be less attractive blocks than the east side and not much green space. The exception is the area around the armory which is a fantastic community and pretty pocket though hemmed in by highways and the hood.
Downtown is actually a great place to live without kids. Walkable, great architecture, a lot going on.

I could potentially be interested. I’m moving to Providence this weekend. Most of my experience comes from Mario Tennis 😂 jk I have played a little bit never in school or anything just hitting the ball back and forth with my girlfriend and we have played some games against each other but that’s as far as my experience goes. 34/m, also going to be located on the north side of town as well.

Sholes, by the airport. Is that place still around? Just down the road from the Carvel and Johnson & Wales's Warwick campus.

You could also take Amtrak or commuter rail to Back Bay and take the Logan Express bus from there— $3 to airport, free from airport.

I do, you good to toss that thing up. The community would greatly appreciate it. The RI skate community is all about guerilla concrete work. If something randomly shows up, we all get hyped.

Right. That’s where I grew up. Now that I live here, the closest thing of similar quality that I’ve found is The Beef Barn in North Smithfield. https://www.thebeefbarn.com/

“not in providence proper” is a massive understatement when referring to the north shore lmao. It’s not considered to be in boston proper! A cool hour and a half from here.

Just go to EP and hit up Italian Corner. If they ask if you want the pesto vinaigrette you say extra.

Not in Providence proper, but the Beef Barn is the closest I’ve found to the sandwiches of my youth on the North Shore of Boston.

Almond croissants are my favorite and they're always ridiculously flat and burnt looking at Seven Stars which makes me sad.
