Hotpads is great, but it won't help with the pricing. Housing is just getting expensive. A quick look shows Woonsocket prices range from $1200/month to over $2000/month for 2-bedrooms, with most of them being around the 1500-1700 range.

Thank you for mentioning hot pads. I've been scouring craigslist and fb for an apartment and it's been a shit show of obscenely over priced places. Example, everything i was seeing in Woonsocket was 850 a bedroom. That's more than my 2 bedroom costed 4 years ago!

It's all luck and then jumping on a good one as soon as you find it, just found mine on Craigslist and I came to the tour with cash in hand ready to sign cuz he already had 3 other people lined up to check it out. Good luck!

I’m sorry this is happening and I wish you all the best. It’s really tough - the market is incredibly volatile and by the time something is listed it seems to be rented. I know they aren’t the best but property management companies can sometimes have networks and get you in a place. If no one has had to move in the last year they may not understand so please do not give up hope and I hope you get something good 🙏

It used to be pretty much exclusively graduate students in the young professionals crowd here. Like, seriously, every friend or date I had in my early 20s went to Brown to the point it was absurd.

As someone who didn't go to school here, I felt kind of left out of all the student organizations, alumni community, and social life from the local colleges. It can be a bit insular and when everyone you know is here in transition it can be kind of hard to make longterm ties.

That being said, now that I'm older it seems like a lot has changed and some young people are actually moving in. That being said, just prepare to meet a lot of college students in flux.

I’d been considering trying to start some sort of social group centered around table top gaming (though I do play and DM D&D 5e specifically too).

Problem is I have small kids and not a lot of flexibility to go places right now. Would there be interest in starting a Discord community and maybe events and stuff later on if we get good interest?
