I think the proper campus areas probably come out to 1 sq mile maybe? Obviously schools own plenty of real estate outside that area and there’s a ton of property that’s just student housing.
The city is like 18sq miles total so it’s a pretty significant chunk.

We liked Cadence Academy in Seekonk. Our oldest went there from 11 months to 22 months before we got an au pair when our second was born. Back then (2020) it was like $1,600 a month. Before Cadence Academy we went to Bright Horizons in Providence which was wonderful but a lot more inconvenient to get to. I think that was like $2,000 a month (2018-2019).

The cynical part of me wants to say it’s a quiet way to say “this is not someone from the neighborhood” or some shit.

>especially the part where they're talking about immigration/housing status.
Yeah that stuck me as odd too. Why call out specific characteristics that are unknown? "We don't know anything about the individual" covers all the bases.

I live in Providence and had nothing but a great experience with Love 4 All on Eddy St. near the RI hospital. Safe. Very engaging activities. Approachable pricing.

RIC in the Mount Pleasant / Fruit Hill area has a track that is open to the public. Not sure of the hours but I know the hours are posted on a sign at the track.

I always used to use the track at hope high. I always finished up before students could be there (done by like 630-7am) and I never had an issue. I think there are some running clubs that use it, too.

I think its to prevent questions and speculation regarding that but i agree it almost suggests something. It could have just said we dont know the identity or it could have said we dont know the age/sex/race of the person in question.

Lived in Boston for 10 years lol one of the hang-ups of city living was walking/biking back from the grocery store.

No worries, I didn’t think that. I agree with you regarding their choice of words. It almost insinuates that it likely was one of these factors which led to one’s suicide, yet with zero direct knowledge of the circumstances.

Just to be clear, wasn't trying to come at you over this. I get the instinct to share. The WBNA's phrasing and choice was my issue.

That makes total sense. I’m not too aware as to how these situations are typically handled by media or police, for what it’s worth.
I’ve no knowledge as to why the writer chose to emphasize the lack of those specific details, but I figured I’d share it with you all regardless.

You are making my point, not refuting it. You understand that right? The first thing all you people think of is "what does this mean for cars?"
Regardless, Trader Joe's only agreed to this development if they got a certain number of parking spots. You all know that there is a parking garage right? That's it not just 6 spots you can see in this picture or whatever? I am not privy to the details but I am privy to a lot of the basic negotiation that went on here.
At the end of the day Trader Joe's agrees with you, btw. They would much prefer to have the parcel to themselves surrounded by parking. They are not urban champions. I don't know where you got the idea that this was all Trader Joe's idea. But if we want better development then this is the type of thing we need to stop. And if it fails then that's my entire point about proving Proccianti right. Just pave over the whole fucking state so everyone has parking all the god damn time. It makes me fucking sick, to be honest.

Providence has IVY League "Brown University (MOST of the East Side and Downtown, including Thayer Street)", The greatest art school in the country "RI School of Design", "Providence College", "Johnson and Wales", "RI College (several locations)", THEN "University of Rhode Island", "Bryant University", "Roger Williams University" & "Salve Regina University", we might be a small state but we pack a lot of colleges and universities!
