Additionally undocumented folks have no access to health insurance, unemployment benefits, social security, retirement benefits, car and home loans or federal financial aid. What money other than emergency services (which we provide for anyone) do we pay for undocumented people?

Alot of shelters only allow people to be there from certain hours overnight and people have to leave in the morning for the day until they open again at night. Not many places available during the day for homeless people especially in colder and bad weather. .

There is no reason people cannot legally immigrate. Illegal aliens should not be a thing..not.one penny of taxpayers money should be spent on illegals when we have citizens who need assistance. Its not our job to absorb every lay-out who can make it to the border. Immigration should benefit the host country.

It’s only a zero sum game if you make it one. We should be doing more to help homeless people AND undocumented people.

We got endless money for illegal aliens there is no excuse for citizens who want help to be left on the street . As an example look what new York threw together for illegals while also having a homeless problem.

My childhood friends uncle said fuck it and went and lived in the woods. He wasn't crazy or on drugs just didn't want any responsibility. Didn't want a job. Didnt want a place to live that required having a job to pay for. I don't have an answer for the people who choose to be like that.

People who were housing insecure before are now homeless. The cost of housing, heat, food etc has skyrocketed. Those who were barely scraping by are now homeless
