Same here. Management are a bunch of assholes, but it was a decent job that taught me how to deal with people, and I made a lot of close friends that I still hang with 12+ years later. It could be worse I guess.

Dave’s and Bolt have a good variety of coffee you can buy. Great stuff. Quonnie is great at Dave’s and Bolt usually has good holiday roasts. Just depends what you like. (Dave’s also sells coffee syrup…unique but like some of the other recs is not always a slam dunk…dels mix is not as good as the real thing).

Seven stars actually has good hours. They are open until 6pm I believe. I do enjoy it that they are open and usually have product in the afternoon/evening.
I can't understand why all these places close so damn early.

Look into local restaurants as a host, especially family owned places. From my experience (granted it was in the 2000s) family places like to employ people from the community

Get you a packet of hot wiener sauce mix powder, because it is delicious and hilarious.

I find myself wanting pastries as an afternoon snack so much more than a breakfast item. Moved to PVD 1.5 years ago and I'm still adjusting to the fact that no cafes are open in the afternoon! I'll sometimes wake up early, get one on the off chance I might want one later, and then have it later that afternoon/the next day. I miss the days I used to be able to spend my afternoon in a coffee shop reading with a tea and scone!

Just adding, don't be discouraged if it takes a little while. Even if you can only find a holidays seasonal job, that will help you build your resume. Any job experience will help you in the next job. Good luck

Anchor Toffee (at the Farm Fresh RI building on Simms Ave). While there you can also get some baked goods from Wright's farm at their Ice Cream shop.
If you're flying out of TF Green you can buy Autocrat Syrup and Narragansett beer after security.

I’ll have to get some party pizza while I’m in town! 🍅 And Del’s seems like a must-get. Thank you!

I had heard stories, again with a grain of salt, that the hours sucked, couldn't get full 40 hour week and pay was not all it was cracked up to be, management wasn't very helpful etc all the highlights.

Autocratic coffee syrup. Del's Frozen Lemonade Mix. New York System Hot Dog chili spice mix. (both of the last two should be available at Frog and Toad). If free on a Saturday the Winter Farmer's Market had lots of choices.

What's up with the staff turnover? Any reason why you might think? Are they getting paid shit or treated poorly?

No, that's why I'm telling you you need to order soon. A lot of bakeries are closed on Mondays so I would think they cut off on Tuesday. In other words order it tomorrow or Sunday.

Try your doctor’s or dentist’s offices. They always have a backlog of filing and other clerical work and can probably let you work for a couple of hours here and there.

Party pizza (fits in your carry-on with absolutely no mess)

This place, with an “executive pastry chef,” replacing an arguably-sketchy bodega across from a public park named for a prominent member of the Black community (https://www.billytaylorhouse.com/billy-taylor-bio), in a historically Black neighborhood of Providence, is a peak example of gentrification. Don’t be ridiculous!
