This place, with an “executive pastry chef,” replacing an arguably-sketchy bodega across from a public park named for a prominent member of the Black community (https://www.billytaylorhouse.com/billy-taylor-bio), in a historically Black neighborhood of Providence, is a peak example of gentrification. Don’t be ridiculous!

Dave’s and Bolt have a good variety of coffee you can buy. Great stuff. Quonnie is great at Dave’s and Bolt usually has good holiday roasts. Just depends what you like. (Dave’s also sells coffee syrup…unique but like some of the other recs is not always a slam dunk…dels mix is not as good as the real thing).

I find myself wanting pastries as an afternoon snack so much more than a breakfast item. Moved to PVD 1.5 years ago and I'm still adjusting to the fact that no cafes are open in the afternoon! I'll sometimes wake up early, get one on the off chance I might want one later, and then have it later that afternoon/the next day. I miss the days I used to be able to spend my afternoon in a coffee shop reading with a tea and scone!

Just adding, don't be discouraged if it takes a little while. Even if you can only find a holidays seasonal job, that will help you build your resume. Any job experience will help you in the next job. Good luck

Anchor Toffee (at the Farm Fresh RI building on Simms Ave). While there you can also get some baked goods from Wright's farm at their Ice Cream shop.

If you're flying out of TF Green you can buy Autocrat Syrup and Narragansett beer after security.

Autocratic coffee syrup. Del's Frozen Lemonade Mix. New York System Hot Dog chili spice mix. (both of the last two should be available at Frog and Toad). If free on a Saturday the Winter Farmer's Market had lots of choices.
