I've heard some bad arguments against electric vehicles. This one is Hall of Fame worthy.

It's just as crazy to me as a guy waving a knife that one could decide to never call the cops due to a personal ideology being held in higher value than the safety of their neighbors.

There’s a program being developed specifically to have mental health professionals respond to crisis events instead of police.

City Councilor Nirva LaFortune worked with community to create the alternative crisis response program. I believe this is what you’re looking for?

It’s unfortunate and sad. And probably true. But I’ll never call them.

Your car is primed to be hit again since you’re getting a new converter and the thieves know it. Hide your car in a garage for a while or something if possible.

It was awhile ago, but it was just one piece, insulation on the inside wrapped with white material. I did all the pipes in the basement when we converted to gas from oil.

Yeah this is pretty common. Used to happen all the time when I lived in Denver too. They are after the precious metals inside it I think.

I’m a healthcare worker and a first responder.
No damn way I’m going near a mentally ill person waving a knife. I’ve been punched, scratched, bit, kicked, and spat on by plenty of patients who are “mentally unwell” and admitted to the hospital and the fact they “didn’t realize what they were doing” didn’t make my ribs any less bruised.
I’m sick of people expecting healthcare workers to be martyrs. I worked too hard and for too long to get killed by some fucked up dickhead who thinks I’m a space invader trying to abduct him. “Oh but you swore an oath” bro I’m not getting stabbed just because you guys don’t want to deal with the problem yourselves. Walk the other way and leave them alone. But on the off chance they really do lose it and hurt an innocent person just remember you’re complicit.
Let the cops deal with it.

You can care for all of these people at the same time, it isn't one or the other. De-escalation gives you a better shot at a safe outcome for all.

Massive issue in the Bay Area where I’ve moved to (miss RI ❤️) and sorry that happened to you. Doesn’t help you now but for others reading just a heads up that comprehensive insurance (at least my plan thru Geico) covers catalytic converters under theft so instead of 3000 for an OEM cat I just had to pay the couple hundred deductible.

Evolvé apothecary is my spot. I’ve heard wonderful things about the wax witch but she is really hard to get an appointment with.
I go to Xiomara but she is on maternity leave for a bit so now I see Brianna until Xiomara is back.

I work mostly in mass. Last summer I was in downtown Boston. This summer I’ve mostly been in Quincy and canton. It sucks. My shifts are always 12 hours, and usually 6 days a week so by the time I get home there’s enough time to shower and then sleep. Not sure how long your shifts are, but it’s something to keep in mind. I kinda settle into a routine and it becomes alright, but it’s never exactly pleasant. The vehicle you drive greatly influences it though. Last summer I drove my fathers fancy genesis sedan for a week after the alternator in my shitbox died and that car was so much more comfortable for the ride it truly made a difference throughout my week.

I read this as Attleboro is the #1 stop from South Station.

had to check: “BH” = ‘Behavioral Health’ I’m pretty sure; not sure how this would differ from a ‘mental/emotional health’ resource, is the differentiation to sidestep “mental health” associated stigma?

I can appreciate you wanting to get the police involved but this is definitely a get-the-police-involved situation.
Someone waving a knife around in clear mental distress is a huge danger to themselves and others.

They’re hitting the entire city. Just a few months ago there was a cat stolen from one Honda and then another Honda was stolen all together in front of my parents place in the west end.

I don’t suppose the op knows someone with a tranquilizer dart gun. Maybe the police and mental health professionals should have access to such things if they don’t already.

As someone already mentioned, you might be able to get your insurance to cover it. Not sure if auto insurance will (it might) but you can also look into your homeowners coverage if your vehicle was parked at home when the theft occurred. Talk to you insurance agent.
