I am perplexed by this comment. Did you write it under another account or copy and paste? In my email, I received a message by another person verbatim. Then, hours later, you post the same message.

Creepy.

My responses only occur with respect to your initial message in which you mention having been homeless. In the same message, you misrepresent my initial post. Many people have done so. They claim my post is a direct attack on all homeless people. My post as written specifically states that I withhold empathy from a person exhibiting particular behaviors. That's it. Hence, you and a few others do display poor reading comprehension skills.

So I respond to you then share some of my experiences too. I did so pointing out that I (but indirectly others) have endured conditions most people here cannot fathom. Yet, the tone is not one of "victimhood." I only mention it in response to your rhetorical strategy: claim I lack some types of emotions, mention your experience to try to display your perspective as both accurate and knowledgable but also dismiss mine, and also distort my position.

Yawn. Any one of you sheltered Whites with money can come see me in Olneyville. I will be the Brown guy who made something of his life despite the hate you all direct towards my people.

Dont sleep on Neutaconkanut Park or the Blackstone Conservation Park on the east side. It's amazing we have such great parks within our little city.

And uh since I have one more, I guess shout out to Briana's Restaurant on Atwells cause her pupusas are really good, really impressed my Salvadorian mother when she came to Providence to visit.

>Already, the photos taken by Flock’s ALPR cameras capture more than just license plates; the photos are used to create what the company calls a searchable "Vehicle Fingerprint."

>Using a "proprietary machine learning algorithm," the company says, it gathers "vehicle make, type, color, license plate, state of the license plate, covered plates, missing plates, and unique features like roof racks and bumper stickers."

>Presumably that would allow searches for all vehicles that include a particular political bumper sticker, enabling people to be targeted based on the exercise of their First Amendment-protected free expression rights.

Neat.

I miss the days when you could apply for a refund of your ticket price if the train was over 30 minutes late. It is bull shit that we have zero recourse now.

Food/drinks: Tallulah's taqueria, the Eddy, the dean bar (formerly the Magdalena room), venda ravioli, I liked the old canteen but it's been/being sold, NY system weiners,

Walking: prospect terrace/park, Roger Williams park, pedestrian bridge area

I find that we enjoy "taco hopping" - like bar hopping, but different taco places around town. Of course, there are booze involved.

Weekends have $10 unlimited-use commuter rail passes for easy getaways to Boston.

If you're into history, there are plenty of things to see. Benefit st, being one of the oldest in Providence, is always beautiful to walk down. The state house has a RI museum, which I believe is free to enter. You can see the state charter from 16xx. Roger Williams has a museum as well (like $2-$5 entrance fee), with natural life found in Rhode island which is fun. There are old witch graves you can find throughout the state, but you'll be leaving Providence. If you're leaving Providence, you can head to Newport and see the cliff walks, you can head to Exeter to see that witches grave, etc. - it's RI so these places aren't THAT far away. Smithfield has a lot of good restaurants these days (Laura's & blackies to name a few), so does Woonsocket (Ciro's, Christopher's, and river falls). I can always demolish a few sandwiches at the beef barn (N. Smithfield). Always have the cliff walks, too.

I almost always take the Amtrak if I can help it. The commuter rail takes twice as long on a good day. The monthly passes are only a little more expensive than what the MBTA charges, but the downside is you have less trains during peak hours.
