Posting on here as I don't know where else to turn, on an alt as my friends know my main.
Hello, I just discovered my wife of 4 years been cheating on me for months with another man. I came back home from work one day to hear her talking with another man on the phone, she tried to claim he was just a friend but I knew better. I looked through her phone to find out the worst- she was cheating on me and had been for months.
In their messages, she said she plans to leave me and take everything. She said she would claim I'd been emotionally absent and cruel and take everything I have.
Please, any advice for divorce proceedings would be great, I'm just so upset and confused about everything right now.
edit: thank you so much everyone for all the help! I didnt expect this to blow up this much or anything and sorry for not updating or replying to anyones comments yet. Its not for a good reason I'm afraid, I came home from work yesterday after posting this to find out that my wife (or soon to be ex) has left, and she took the majority of our posetions some of which I had bought. The last day I've been searching through my receipts to find proof of what we bought, but not with much luck. She also left a note saying she was leaving me for another man and was tired of my abusive behaviour and has had enough. but I swear I never did anything wrong! I'm currently staying with a childhood friend and have just been able to log onto reddit after this whole thing. He's been a shoulder to cry on and we've been through thick and thin together. I definitely plan on getting a divorce lawyer and working through this with them, but it may take a while to get everything done as I don't have my computer, and I'm using my friend's when he's not busy. I should be able to reply to some of you guys' comments and help, and thank you so much again
