Hey guys, I posted an update here if anyone is interested.
My boyfriend (29M) of 3 years and I (28F) got in a fight last night and he left the house. It was around midnight. We’ve lived together for over a year. We also use location sharing services on iPhone and he turned that off so I couldn’t see where he went.
At first I thought he just took off for a drive to clear his head, but I woke up this morning and he is still gone, still unable to locate him on iPhone. I’ve tried calling him twice, no answer. He might still be asleep but at this point I’m worried.
I don’t think this is an acceptable way to handle things, leaving the house and making the other person worry. He’s been my only boyfriend though so I’m not sure what’s normal behavior in a fight. I get needing a time out, but don’t most people just go to the other room? I’m not sure what to say to him if/when he calls back or comes home. First I’ll just be relieved he’s ok, but second I find this unacceptable and I need him to promise he won’t do it again or it will be a dealbreaker.
TLDR: boyfriend left the house in anger after a fight, turned off location sharing, and not answering calls; how should I respond when he comes home or calls back?
