If I'm being 100% honest I don't know how to even be apart from him. I've been friends with him longer than I haven't, he and I know everything about each other, confide in each other out of habit, and I trust him. He is also friends with everyone in my family, all my cousins, my siblings, aunts, uncles. I am best friends with one of his cousins. How do we ever separate? I've never even thought of doing it and can't imagine it really...
Has anyone else been in a situation like this?

Do you have a job? Money of your own? Things like that? Or are you completely dependent on him & your family?

I am independent and have a stable career and all that. I have a little savings, probably not enough to last me very long, but working on it slowly. I've been working since I was 17 or so.

You could move away & start over. It has to sound tempting, though scary.

I'm probably not someone who should give much advice here, but I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sounds like your mother is abusive.
This is not how your relationship with her should be.
From advice I got (a little similar situation here), it's might be a good idea to try to cut her off.
Again, I'm not a professional, but I'm really sorry that it's happening

The main thing I got out of all of this? You need to leave Nate, the physically abusive boyfriend who humiliated you at Thanksgiving. Why are you still with him?
Keeping far away from your toxic mother is also a good plan.
