So my gf and I were watching a show with her friend. There was an unlikeable, misogynistic character on the short side (5’8) and she was saying he gives off “short man energy…little dick energy” and continued to say it again a couple minutes later. I just sat there silent and didn’t say anything.
For context, I’m 5’7 but muscular, yet I have communicated my insecurity on being short and we have agreed on a boundary to make negative comments about each other’s bodies. She is aware of my insecurity. She has reassured me in the past that I’m not small and not that short, but her saying those comments so aggressively felt so hurtful. She can tell I’m hurt by something, but I am afraid to communicate how her comments bothered me because it will give off “short man energy” and she didn’t say it directly to me.
Advice?
