New to Reddit, throw away account. My husband (42m) got me (33f) a meat thermometer for Christmas. It took everything in me not to burst into tears Christmas morning when I opened it. I put a lot of thought and effort into getting him a nice present (as I do every year) and was just devastated to open a meat thermometer. Absolutely bizarre! Our (15) child called him out later in the day and made a joke about it because he could tell I was hurt. I'm honestly just so angry at the thoughtlessness of it all. I know "it's just a present," but I am just crushed. I feel like he does not value me or our relationship to give me something like that.
