My partner asked me to cook him dinner while he was at work(hello fresh). When he came home he had two boxed lunches and a salad and and told me that he had got them from a work meeting for free. He didn't say they were only for him, so I assumed they were for both of us. Since I'm doing the keto diet, I took the contents of the sandwich on top and transferred it to keto bread for my dinner.
When he came back in to the room he was furious. Apparently the two boxed lunches were not identical like I had assumed, and the bottom one was vegetarian. I apologized and offered to buy him a replacement sandwich the next day. Despite that, he kept saying how it wasn't fair that I "just get to get away with it.", and I have "ruined his day". Stomped around the house the rest of the night, clattering his plate anything to make it clear how angry he was... about a free sandwich. "I'm an immature child that will never change because I ate that sandwich without getting his permission."
He seems to react this way to the smallest of slights, I suggested that he might have anger management issues and his response is that I'm trying to make this his fault and blaming him for having feelings.

TLDR: Ate my partners free sandwich and ruined his day, what could I have done to fix the situation?
