Baking and baking. A little concerned about the Dominion email about conserving power usage but other than not doing laundry tonight that's about all I can cut out that'd be meaningful.

I don't have covid, flu, strep throat or pneumonia visible on an xray, but I'm sick enough that the doc at Patient first gave me antibiotics and cough medicine. My whole body hurts, but yay vaccines!

I turned mine off in crawl space on Wednesday before we left town, and left kitchen sink open. I'm worried about the couple feet of pipe upstream of the shutoff valve, in the crawlspace. That's full and pressurized.

I am assuming all is ok, been monitoring temps in my vented attic which must be much colder than in crawl space, and it only got down into 20s for some hours. I think crawlspace was fine.

But now I'm gonna turn off at street from now on. I hate the crawlspace.

No problem at all! In general, plastic surgery is only known to most for cosmetics; there's an entire world of things they do on top of that!

The other individual who suggested a Moh's procedure isn't a bad idea either. Might be worth a call or asking whoever you go to for their opinion. Place a lot of emphasis on the fact that you want as minimal scarring as possible!

I had a problem like that where one of my legs (wires) was dropping down to around 70 volts instead of 120. Turned out that the meter socket had gone bad and had a poor connection, and it was a contributing factor in killing my heat pump. I had an electrician buddy pull the permits, have the power company disconnect service line at the transformer located at the telephone pole, he installed the new meter box, and then had everything turned back on. After that I replaced the heat pump since it was well past its lifespan. For his work, it just cost me my time to help him rebuild a motor.

The first step is you should call Dominion, they are responsible for the step-down transformer at the pole and line going into your meter box, and if you're lucky the problem will be on their end. If it's your meter socket, or breaker panel, you're going to need an electrician. Be warned though: HVAC equipment is very sensitive with low voltage and can be damaged when attempting to run with it. And most of the other electronics, like TV's and computers don't like low voltage either.

Good luck...

It works. Your instance may be extreme, but saying that it doesn’t work is spreading misinformation. If a home’s pipes run inside an outside wall they may freeze more easily than if they are being replenished by underground non-frozen water under a house or inside insulation. Mr. Charles here knows what he’s talking about, and this article may help clarify why your in-laws’ precaution didn’t work.

Edited job to non.

People in this city must be so glad to not see pouring rain last couple days and still raining, otherwise they better stay off the roads!

This is INSTANT freeze-up condition. NO way advisable to even drive!

But we had no rain, lucky us!
