I find the taste and texture to be very reminiscent of turkey or dark chicken. After I pick out the bones, there's about 3-4 ounces of meat on each squirrel. I get them from my yard or the woods behind my house. They are stupidly over-populated out here so the meat is a side effect of culling them so that they aren't so destructive.

It’s much different at night. There are street lights at major intersections in Henrico but no where else. In Richmond , they are ubiquitous within city limits. Henrico is fine before 5. After 5, Richmond is much easier to get around. If you can’t see the road it doesn’t matter whether there are meteor strikes or not. How do I know …. Uber and Lyft driving.

Smoked a butt for the company that was supposed to be here but canceled, win/win situation. No heat pump usage today at all. Fireplace has kept this place hotter than usual. I have a raised pond outside, about 400 gallons, and just keep the pump on circulating that water. Starting to look pretty cool and the pipe which is totally exposed to the elements is flowing free and clear, can see the silhouette of the fish occasionally.

In the Richmond for Xmas for the first time in 33 years; spending it with four generations of family and about 200 pounds of boxers (dogs not athletes) who sit on me whenever possible

Did most of my baking yesterday, so you're welcome Dominion. Had planned one more batch of cookies but I think we have plenty. May make them for new years. Heat is on gas so no concerns there. Cats are enjoying the hot radiators. Probably Christmas movies this evening.

Chilling tonight, cooking all the things tomorrow. The cold has put a temporary kibosh on plans today but tomorrow will be filled with Christmas cheer. Just finished the last Harry Potter movie and am moving on to something else now.

We just put our little one down for bed, it's the first Christmas Eve, at four years old, that she's ABOUT SANTA. Spent ten min putting out cookies, milk and iced tea out for Santa and a few carrots and a bowl of water for the reindeer.

Enjoying the wood stove, some homegrown, and a flan from my family's dinner earlier.

Despite all their controversy recently, this is a place gas stoves have a leg up. Growing up my parents had a gas stove and I remember more than a couple occasions where we were still cooking despite the power being out.

We lost power in North Chesterfield about four hours ago. It’s just a few houses in the ‘hood impacted and they claim it will be back tonight. We had to finish cooking our dinner on the outdoor grill. It’s starting to get cold. Luckily we have a a fireplace

... to use up some squirrel.

You can't just slide that in there like that. Like legit squirrel? If so, what does it taste like? Is there a lot of meat on it? Where do you get squirrel? The trees?

We need answers.
