Covid got us again. Grateful to spend time with my wife and our boys, but miss seeing the extended family on Christmas.

In Richmond, you’re probably best focusing your efforts on insulating your crawl space and sealing the vents vs insulating your pipes. Just seems overkill.

finished wrapping my christmas presents last night, and now i’m hiding out in my boyfriends apartment to try abs avoid my family as much as possible today, i love them dearly, but i can only take so much of them at a time lol

No plans. Might find a bar that’s open and tip feverishly. Accctually buying some stuff tomorrow and going down to see family Tuesday.

Waiting on the pre-teen to wake up. He sleeps late on Christmas. Always has. I'm ready to get the show on the road.

My mother in law spent the night last night. My father in law passed about 8 weeks ago and we didn't want her to be alone. I'm happy to have her but part of me is ready to have my house to myself. My parents, my brother, and his girlfriend are coming for lunch. I don't really get along with my parents so that's fun.

It's going to be a long day but we'll be fine. If having a warm home and presents under the tree is my biggest issue, I'll be fine.

Waiting for the kids and wife to wake up to open their presents, then headed to my grandparent's house for Christmas breakfast. Christmas breakfast has always been one of my favorite parts of the year, though that fervor is a little stunted now that the vast majority of the people who were there when I was a kid are no longer with us. Even with the additions to the family over the years, population has been steadily dropping.

My pipes are frozen in my apartment!! Eek.

Luckily I'm at work all day anyways and I can take a shower here.

But I'm excited to come home and open some presents. Hoping my water is back on before a big date tomorrow afternoon which I'm super excited for!!

Breakfast with the in-laws soon, then grandparents’ house, then back home to make a lasagna (just for the two of us) and pack for our upcoming move

I have nothing to do until around 10 and it feels very weird. Maybe in future years I'll find some christmas morning volunteer activity. There's gotta be something out there, maybe with group homes or something.

Wow, I'd be so heartbroken. You even told him what to buy. Damn.

Anyways, I have to travel a wee bit today and do a lot of cooking but I’m excited :)

Waiting for my bf to wake up since he was at work until 1am last night. Not really excited to open anything this year cause I already know what it all is and yesterday my bf admitted to me that he forgot to buy the 3 things I had asked for so there's just shitty Amazon gifts my parents sent for me and all the cool stuff for my bf.

Brunch at the Jefferson, starving myself until then and doing nothing but digesting for the rest of the day.

Facts! I tried to wait out the kid but knew my old "early to rise" ass would be up at 530 without an alarm anyway. Stockings stuffed, presents safely under the tree, now we wait.

Up early because Santa can't stay up late like he used to.

Up early, coffee and my prescription!!! Teen is already awake, 4yr old girl decided she didnt want to go to sleep on time so trying to let her sleep in a bit. Ham steak for breakfast. We started doing non traditional Christmas dinner 3 yrs ago. We love it. So tonight is my wife's bbq bacon string cheese meatloaf, homemade mash and gravy. Tomorrows meatloaf sandwiches with fried onions on top. Gonna try to do some wood turning today since its gonna be warmer!!
