I’m home alone today for the first Xmas in a long while after being so sick last week and deciding not to travel. As a Jewish person (happy eighth night!) it’s a great day to cuddle up with a book, eat Chinese food, and not have to be on anyone else’s schedule. We will open presents when my partner gets home from being w her family in NY. Thrilled she’s having a great time, and thrilled for myself too. Sending all of you warm holiday vibes and hope you get to celebrate on the timeline and with the energy that works best for you!

Still in bed because I stayed up way too late with my sons. I’m just enjoying knowing they are both under my roof, sleeping peacefully. We are warm(ish, anyway), well fed, healthy, and happy. Our almost 16 year old pup lived to see another Christmas. Today is a very good day, for which I am profoundly grateful. Merry christmas, everyone!

Merry Christmas! My family is opening presents whenever my siblings emerge from their slumber, then I'm helping prepare a couple of side dishes to bring to the extended family dinner tonight. Someone woke up and took cold medicine at some point last night so hopefully we don't all come down with the plague!

The Ponderosa Steakhouse in Ashland finally closed, so now I don't know where to go either.

I think the other Sunday brunches in December take a bit longer to fill up, but are typically full within a day of opening. (They take reservations 3 months in advance.)

I'll report back if I survive the gorging without busting my abdominal wall.

Was up early with the dogs because one of them threw up and then they were up and ready to go. Now I'm watching Lord of the Rings with some tea, a scone, and I'm also reading some lovely fanfiction. So far, a very lovely morning.
