Average space heater is 1500W. Run it for 24 hours and you've used 36 kWh. Are the weekend rates only $0.067/kWh?

Not trying to be an a nitpick, I'm genuinely wondering. I was under the impression we pay between 11-13¢ per kWh unless you're one of the 10,000 people under schedule 1G?

Yeah…it’s the holidays. People aren’t really working over the holidays. It happens. I am continuously shocked by people who think landlords can just bend contractors to their whim. They are right. They can’t help that the heat went out so close to a holiday. What are they supposed to do? They can’t just snap their fingers and make things happen. I am a homeowner without heat and I can’t get anyone to fix my heater until Tuesday. You know what I did? I bought four space heaters and set them up in my house to sustain until the repair can be made. That’s life. We adapt and overcome. The landlords aren’t bad landlords just because they can’t get a contractor to fix your heat right now.

I know this feeling to well… such a sucky feeling. same exact plans every year until I turned 38. When my grandmother passed it was tough and our family holidays dissolved. This year was the first year my 20 year old son was not home Christmas Eve or Morning. I am happy he is growing in life and I missed him so very much. So conflicting! I hope you were able to have a happy day despite the changes you have been dealt. 💕

If you have an interest in springs we may get along...I've also found springs at the foot of the hill in Chimborazo near the dog park, as well as two springs in Byrd Park, one near dogwood dell and the other on the west side of Shields Lake. There's also (supposedly) one in the basement of the Byrd Theatre, but I'm not sure how I would get to that...I'll be sure to let you know if I find anything.

Only working springs in the city are church hill and wayside in forest hill.

The architecture remains of the one at carter Jones park. Without knowing you might mistake it for a skatepark or foundation of a building.

There is a cage around the remaining infrastructure of a spring at the park adjacent to 95 near rays big burger.

I have an interest in the springs and never got any info about one out there and I lived near those roads. Would love to know anything you find out.

Was walking on Brown's Island around 400pm today and a water main under the Manchester bridge had burst. Water was flowing out like crazy. Probably other lines froze and burst causing drop in water pressure. My daughter called Public utilities to report it and they said they'd not gotten any other reports of the break

I hate to do this... but I'm going to say some things. We eat at upscale steak & seafood places almost exclusively. Out of the local places that specialize in steak... Firebirds is reliable ONLY at the Belvidere location. Short Pump is not reliable AT ALL. They will get the order wrong and will get the temperature wrong. Buckheads: like being in an episode of Madmen. Decor stuck in the 1960s. You'll be surrounded by old guys who donate to conservative causes and get LOUD about it after downing a couple of single malts. Dank and dirty feeling. Hondos: okay, but the menu hasn't changed in 10+ years. I finally convinced them to stop playing Michael Buble, but I want to try a different side vegetable before I die. Outback, just because it was mentioned here: decent steak, terrible atmosphere. Best steak we've had recently was Ruth's Chris. And best service as well. I think this is also a politically conservative place so we avoided it for many years but the experience we had there (food and service) was fantastic. Wonderful charring and perfect temperature, wee seasoned. I should add, if you're on a budget, or are dining with kids, O'Charleys makes a good, well seasoned ribeye (at least in my local market), it's just thinner than more expensive restaurants. We never eat sirloin so I can't speak to sirloin and we generally eat at expensive places to avoid country music and loud kids.
