I also go to Dr Jones. Was just in there Friday. He said they are up to 9700 clients so new patient appointments are scarce. He also mentioned that if a current long time client refers you you're more likely to be worked in. He also hinted at hoping to expand the practice soon

It must be an epidemic. I’ve been meaning to find a new dentist since the previous one is a little far from us and we haven’t been there since the pandemic started. I haven’t actually done the adult thing and called though. Of course I lost a crown at Christmas dinner. Of course all the dentists in my area are closed today. I’m not sure how long it’ll take to get in even after the offices open. <sigh>

My first house was that way and I had the same issues with the "what if" a pipe bust under the slab.

House I've been in now for 20 years I designed. All brick exterior, lots of insulation, and on a 4 foot fully lit, closed (no vents) and heated and air conditioned crawl space fully sealed. Crawl still looks new under there, and A/C equipment that has had to come out and be changed one time had the installers saying the 16 year old one looked like it just came out of the box. No dust or bug problems.

Then again, I even put hurricane tie-downs on the roofing. So I was out to stop crap from happening.

I heard a church on Nuckols Road in Glen Allen had a pipe burst Saturday night. Eight year earlier the same pipe went and plumbers were called in to repair it. That section was supposed to be insulated, and when they did the work eight years ago, they never put on the insulation. So all damage and loss is due to sloppy work done eight years earlier.

When someone is there to fix things, make sure they do what they should/or said they would be doing to correct the problem.

They can at least offer to cover some of the electric bill. They're the homeowner and their tenant doesn't have adequate heat. It's the landlord's responsibility to fix it and if contractors can't come out, then they have to do what they have to do. Put them up in a hotel/motel until the property is liveable, provide heated blankets or space heaters, put them in a vacant unit with an air mattress...

The tenant is literally paying the landlord to be responsible for moments exactly like this.

They’ve had multiple fines/cases with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals/Board of Veterinary Medicine with several cases resulting in death or life altering injuries to the pet - these can be seen on the VA DHP website’s case decision lookup. I cannot say much more on a public thread but I promise you, it’s not worth the risk.

Stay away from Helping Hands. I work for a mobile practice and there are tons of good brick and mortar places in the area as well, I would honestly just start calling around to get estimates. The price will likely depend on exactly what your cat needs.
