i don’t know about here, but in NYC larger apartment buildings have a dedicated superintendent that performs maintenance in exchange for reduced or free rent. That’s easy for a large millionaire landlord to swing. Mom and pop renting out a second property obviously can’t do that. At most, they have a property management agency that acts as a middle man to hire third party companies to do maintenance like this. They can’t do that if there are no technicians available to hire because demand spiked on Christmas. At the end of the day, the landlord isn’t going to be found negligent of anything here. It’s a freak cold snap on a holiday that took out heat for many, many homes. They have an obligation to repair it within a reasonable timeline, and reasonable isn’t going to be same-day given the circumstances.

It does, you’re just too dumb to realize it.

>The landlord shall perform the duties imposed by subsection A in accordance with law; however, the landlord shall only be liable for the tenant's actual damages proximately caused by the landlord's failure to exercise ordinary care.

An extreme cold snap that spikes demand for HVAC techs on a weekend where very few HVAC techs are working ≠ demonstrate a landlord’s failure to exercise ordinary care.

Just got back to Richmond after driving for 8 hours (was supposed to be under 4.5 hours). I’m drained and happy to be home and done with family time for a bit. Gonna make dinner, grab my book, and curl up with my cat.

It’s a trip. About 25 min from mine in the Fan, but Yu’s China Bistro in Centerville (Goochland just west of 288) has the best general tso in the area imo. Chicken is always fresh, white meat, no odd bits, crispy/crunchy, flavorful, etc. Nice little bits of sliced garlic and green onion. Chef’s kiss.

Hah I would have worked this show. Would have been my second or third wrestling event.

My problem with the coliseum being closed is that it was a fully functional venue and was shut down as a political pawn by Stoney to get the navy hill project approved.

In the years prior it was deliberately under maintained... just compare it to the Scope.

Hundreds of people lost work because of that.

Back in high school I took a date to GLOW. Now that was showmanship. And my date loved it.

Last I heard, my former date was living in France, working as a diplomat, and would be mortified if I reminded her of this outing.

The WWF and Monster Jam shows at the Coliseum were fucking great - I miss them coming to town. I'm not lobbying for the Coliseum to stay, but I'm sad to see it go.
