you qualify for medicaid if you are unemployed or under employed. Another option is ACA marketplace for one you CAN afford. If unemployed you can also get EBT. It turns around in a week and if needed sooner you can call the person assigned to you.

Edit: mental health assistance is included in Medicaid. They have some damn good people in Hanover. My gf said they were the best after 10 years of therapy elsewhere.

Going to the office today for a short 3-day work week (woo hoo!), then finally checking out Tulsi for dinner and doing some post-Christmas Christmas shopping for a few people.

That said, I’m not looking forward to going outside when it’s still below freezing. I’d feel better about it if it at least snowed a little during this colder snap, but all we got was dry spite and windy hijinks.

Back at work and the boss is in a blind rage because of a call out with flu like systems by a tech that had been assigned to do way too much for one person. Happy New Year to me as it is one that works with me. I hesitate to point out the policy she is trying in enforce is for an absence greater than 3 days or more not a singular absence. Also, she is being vindictive to prevent him from working in other departments during a slow down on his side of the work due to temperatures and time of year.

My heats out, my pipe burst in an uninsulated laundry room, my dishwasher is broken, and there are holes in our ceiling and walls from mold remediation. Calling a real estate lawyer today and putting my rent into escrow. Fuck evernest aka Dodson properties.

If you’re looking for Sechuan food, Chengdu is better than anything in Charlottesville. Peter Chang is also very good, though a bit more in the “modern” side.

General Tso isn’t Sechuan though….

Heading back to RVA after a week up north for the holiday. Love traveling, but I don’t think I’ve ever been so ready to go home. Thankfully, we drove, so no flight cancellations; just an 11 hour drive 😑

We had a similar situation a couple years ago and wanted to reconnect gas logs. Gas line hadn't been used in over a decade. City required us to get gas line inspected and then the city tested the line before turning on the gas. All that cost money but nothing anywhere close to $6k. If the gas line is ok, I can't imagine a cost that high. I'd try and talk to someone else at the City.

I’m trying to kill some pto so I’m off today, but can’t sleep. (Normal for me- terrible sleeper.) So I feel like I’m wasting my days off by waking up early. Thinking about treating myself to breakfast somewhere.

If you just want it painted and you don't care too much about the paint job being perfect, and you want it done quickly and get it over with, go with Maaco. I've taken some of my older cars to them while I was restoring them and Maaco did a fine job for $1,200 or whatever was it I paid.

I've also taken some of my past cars to Affordably Body Shop over on Brook Road just past Walmart on Parham and Brook. They did a great job, however, they only ever painted one panel at a time.

On the other hand, I once had a whole car repainted because Honda recalled paint on 2006-2011 Civic, I took it to West Broad Collision Center and they did an excellent job. The paint looked great 9 years after they repainted it.

General Tso is definitely not Chinese as you mentioned. The official origins have it as a Taiwanese dish first found in 1973. However that’s not the same general Tso we see in America.

TLDR. General Tso is American and what we see today is more than likely heavily influenced version by Mexican cooks in California around the early 90’s.

IIRC there is a HUGE chinese population in parts of maryalnd.

At one point the best chinese in DC was in the hotel lobby of like a Holiday Inn that a bunch of Chinese nationals were staying in.

Looks like it was a Days Innhttps://www.onlyinyourstate.com/dc/hidden-chinese-food-restaurant-washington-dc/

" Because it's attached to the Days Inn where the Chinese Embassy housed their workers while doing renovations (for obvious reasons, they imported their workers). "
