I cancelled my digital subscription when it more than doubled. I have no concerns paying for a digital only subscription, I'd love to support local journalism, but I'm not paying more for RTD than three other subscriptions combined.

Interviewer yesterday: Describe your worst boss ever and tell me about how you handled yourself in a serious conflict with them. Lie to me. Hard.

Most underwhelming meal lately... We ate at Q for the first time last night and found everything to be oversalted and otherwise bland, I was disappointed. Best part of my platter was Mac n Cheese. We have yet to find excellent bbq in this town despite trying several different places, sadly. Always open for more suggestions.

On a related note, does anyone know by Kuba Kuba Dos is temporarily closed and when they might reopen? I really wanted to try them with my mom for lunch today. Maybe we will go down to the original Kuba Kuba instead... Edit to add: ah, their website says there was a sewer pipe burst below their restaurant. Maybe we will give the Fan location a try then.

I will never travel for the holidays, it makes it feel like work. I have no problems with those that do unless they complain about traffic/delayed flights etc. I mean you are traveling during the busiest time of the year, of course all of that is going to be there!

Home. I binge watched a bunch of crime videos. I've had a hard time sleeping. I'm extra paranoid, and I'm not about to add any fuel to the fire. No, I'll be a little hermit this week. Plus, I'm broke.

Flew up to BOS on delta. Rented a car to drive up to NH. Looking out over a frozen (ish) lake now. Travel has been great so far!

My wife had a primary care visit coded as preventative care because she asked the resident about a mole. Because of that one question, the visit went from free to $250.

Also, they tried to charge her for an hour and a half visit, because the resident had to run around and find her supervising doctor to approve what she had done. The resident was with her a total of 20 minutes.

I love VCU dental care, but VCU Health is a crock of shit.

NO traveling for us as we all live relatively close to each other. Trekking out to niece's place to see her decorations before they come down and an impromptu house warming as this is a new place with her adorable BF.

Drove to Long Island for Christmas.

My least favorite part was sitting on the NJ turnpike in 12 degree weather at midnight on Christmas morning just before exit 1 in standstill traffic for an hour as a 4 car wreck that blocked all lanes north and south was cleared.

My 2nd least favorite thing was the Royal Farms food I bought Christmas Eve after bailing out off the Baltimore Washington Parkway which also was totally stopped due to a wreck. Those chicken tenders were bad, the mashed potatoes were bad, as were the max and cheese and veggie sub. Lesson learned on that one.

I woke up at 3 to get to work to boss air traffic around and I want no part of it today. This week has burnt me out for some reason. Good news though, I get to work overtime on New Year’s Eve 🙄
