Our annual tradition usually consists of my husband and me falling asleep before midnight, and our daughter taking over my social media accounts poking fun at us being asleep and her being bored. This year she’s thrilled to have plans, so husband and I are drawing straws to see who stays awake past midnight to drive her home.

My family typically upholds the pork and sauerkraut tradition for new years (honestly we’re grasping at straws with German heritage as I’m mostly Irish).
