Another rec for Kidtopia. We used to live on that side of town so it was convenient. We moved and went to Pigtails and Crewcuts at Willlow Law. once and it was awful. We asked them to cut 7 inches off and it ended up being 13. I guess I should have brought my own ruler hahahahaha.

Anyways, that’s not the reason they were terrible, the cut was just super super uneven. I was disappointed.

Now, we make the drive to see Taylor at Kidtopia.

If anyone on southside wants to come by my house and take a bunch of logs off my front yard... please dm me.

I cut down a massive red oak, and then our equipment to move the logs broke down. So it's been stuck out there for a couple weeks.

Not seasoned.

Goochland Rotary has a fire wood delivery service. They use the funds to support their Woodchuckers program that provides firewood to rural families in need of it to heat their homes. (Scroll down for Hardwood delivery info, not sure how frequently deliveries are made as it’s volunteer based)

Kidtopia has been okay. Pigtails and crewcuts is actually closer, but the Google reviews were awful when I checked last year, so we didn't try it. The first few cuts were good. I had to finish up the last one a bit where they had the back at a slight diagonal before the holidays. That was a little iffy but she was quite excited and looking around.

We get our fire wood from swift creek berry farm.. They deliver and stack..

However.. I couldn't tell you if they're sold out for the year yet.

We spent $200 for a truck load, and $2 a mile..

There's often an old dude in a red pick up full of wood in the parking lot of the brook and parham lowes/walmart but I don't know how much he's charging.. and i can't recall seeing him for the past couple of months after being out there all summer.

Best prices will always be the furthest out from winter obviously

Not sure what you consider reasonable. But I’ve used both llama wood and Dave at Toastys and they’ve been reliable and seasoned. It’s pricey, but in my experience through CL and other venues, you get what you pay for. I do have a guy extremely affordable, but it’s unseasoned. I’ll call him in August when it’s got time to dry out.

We love Kidtopia Salon in Midlothian. Our son is 2 and has had 4-5 haircuts there and they have all been wonderful. We go to Taylor, she's awesome with the wiggly ones! She also asks them questions and keeps them engaged the whole time.
