yes. a tragedy. Dense development is the best for the environment.
Manhattan is ironically one of the most environmental cities in the country

You shouldn’t worry about it. I mean- they are definitely going to ruin the area- but you worrying won’t help.

installation near the intake/return is generally considered good. But more sensors better

I have not dealt with ecobee, but have heard many good things about it. Much better than the Nest by all reports

Maybe increased home prices can help schools. Maybe higher taxes can go to fund the schools more. Maybe.

a technical quibble - most heat pumps won't work, but a hyperheat inverter type will go to -5.
That said, you know if you have such a thing, and for 98% of the people out there you are correct

we should be building more housing in the city, not putting subdivisions on forest and farmland

Yep, very nice out here in Moseley. I live in one of the neighborhoods from the 80's. Three acres of wooded land, nice sized house, extremely low traffic and great schools... We couldn't be more happy here.

I'm really worried about how the economic development authority and future independent development will ruin the natural beauty of the area. It's changed so much.

It’s nice out here tho. Not all the neighborhoods were clear cut.

Not surprising with magnolia green and other clear-cut subdivisions going in back there (Moseley).
I just realized a barn I rode horses at as a kid was turned into another one of the Fox subdivisions back there. What a shame.

I use 4 remote temp sensors in my home and found huge savings switching home mode (just downstairs temp control) and sleep mode (just my upstairs) in both heating and cooling.
The way it averages out temps when multiple remote temp sensors are used keeps my home the most even temp as well.
I also found out the thermostat was installed way way too close to the intake for my HVAC system. Just using a remote temp sensors saved a ton of overwork it was doing and short cycling that saved tons of $$$

That’s so cool and spooky too! I’m glad it doesn’t frighten you and Casper is friendly and keeps you and your cat entertained. :) I didn’t realize it was you until you said hi, that’s so neat, hi back!! I gave the ornaments and one of the wreaths as Christmas presents to my sister and best friends and they all loved them so much! I kept one of the wreaths for myself and I enjoy it every day. Hope you’re well, friend!

Reply to Odd question but does anyone know of any place where you can get a Siamese kitten in RVA? by ProximaCentauriB15
Grew up with Siamese cats (traditional old style appleheads) and have only had Siamese since I’ve been on my own. As others have said, they are very smart and are very interactive - almost dog like as they fetch and greet you at the door! - and make the most wonderful companions. Some can also become very bonded to their human and very jealous of (and mean to) other cats or other humans, though.
They live a long time, too. My family’s first Siamese lived to 21 and my parents’ current Siamese is 19. I have two boys now (16 and 5). Like any cat, they tend to have kidney or thyroid issues as they age and need special food or medication. In my experience (family’s experience, too) these issues have emerged at an earlier age than expected. My 5 year old has an issue processing protein (causes crystallization in his urine/bladder) and has been on prescription food ($138 for 17 lb bag) since he was a few months old.
I love Siamese kitties so much and wish you luck in your search!!
