It's definitely not unusual to have a big snow storm in late February or early March. I've been an educator for almost twenty years and I can think of at least a few times in my career we've gotten out multiple days for snow after Presidents Day. There was one big storm in early March 2009 I remember in particular that we were out like four days.

Awww we love to watch the construction at Westchester commons. We like to count the dump trucks and then try to guess where they are going and how many they must have running all together since they have a constant cycle of them coming and going

I believe the new CoStar building is under construction, but I haven't been down there to see it myself. At this point they're probably still doing earthworks/foundations.

Yeah depending on age and personality of the kids it may not be a great place to go - I took my son when he was (almost) 3 and he reaaally wanted to touch and get on everything and was not happy that he couldn't. Also be warned that it's enter AND exit through the gift shop so the first thing seen is all of the toys and stuff.

Their collection of vehicles is great though, I do plan to go back someday. Also a big second to James River Equipment.

I'm not sure if there are enough long gun thefts from cars that it is as big of an issue, usually if you're out and about with a long gun you're either going to the range or hunting rather than keeping it in the car constantly(which IMO is a bad idea anyway).

Most of mine are just in soft cases too for transport so while I could stick a little luggage lock on the zippers it wouldn't really accomplish anything nor would they fit in a glovebox or car safe.

What area? Generally anywhere that: doesn't have a sign saying no parking (like an alley or driveway, which actually don't need a sign for that to be true), isn't in front of a hydrant, doesn't have time restrictions because of a permit situation like some neighborhoods, isn't metered like you said, isn't handicapped assigned, and doesn't have city posted signs about towing like for upcoming road repairs, then you're good. That's not an exhaustive list but by and large there aren't really any "gotchas" in terms of parking.....the surrounding signs, and stuff like hydrants and driveways, will basically tell you everything you need to know
