I'm trying to recreate some Mamma Zu favorites for some friends this evening. I'm making veal osso buco, broccolini, and both marinara and gorgonzola pasta sauces. I haven't tried any of the recipes, so I won't post them unvetted, but I will in two weeks if they're successful.

As someone who works outside... he's 100% correct! Cold is easy to deal with. Just wear more clothes. Cold and snow means getting wet. That always sucks.

If you are pissed off by me being against glorifying rapists, then you need to look in the mirror.

Hey, that's not fair at all. Some people join with the best of intentions and then the power turns them into a rotting apple *Android, insert sunglasses face, but like one of the cool ones*

Next lets paint a giant mural to honor Ben Roethlisburger and Deshaun Watson.

I use to live in the apt building next to the client and would wake up on weekends to their yelling. I've definitely have some run-ins with those protesters.

I am one of the people that does clinic defense at that clinic. We prefer not to have people counter them because it can sometimes cause distress with patients going in (or people walking by). As much as I enjoy someone calling them a-holes and everything, they have this whole persecution mindset. So the more abuse they take, the more they think they are doing the right thing. So please avoid engaging with them there because, while being incredibly funny sometimes, it is too likely to make it worse for the patients.
We have heard that they plan to start protesting at CVS and Walgreens because they will sell mifepristone. If you want to counter that, I will join you.

My ego is not stroked by the tragedy that is the rape of a young woman. You are sick for even suggesting that. I simply state that we should not put known rapists on a pedestal.

You're not doing this to be moral or just, you're doing it to stroke your own ego. Get a room and some lotion for that shit bud. Your self righteousness is wafting thru the screen of my phone

Selling a bunch of stuff. I have photos that I can send if you're interested in any of it. All prices are OBO!
-
Mongoose Envoy longtail cargo bike, size M/L. In addition to the panniers, I have a couple of padded seats and some fabric over the back area - works well to take a couple of kids around (which was what I did with it until my kids got too heavy - now I have an electric cargo bike to do the same!). I had it tuned up after putting it together, and the front brake is a little squeaky but works fine. Asking $700.
-
RoyalBaby green kids' bike with training wheels, 14". Asking $75.
-
TooToo V1 balance bike, green. It honestly has hardly ever been used. My kids didn't really take to balance bikes. Asking $50.
-
Burley Bee double bike trailer, yellow. Great trailer but I use my cargo bike to take my kids around now (and they're a little too big for it at this point anyway). Fantastic for groceries and stuff too. Asking $200.
-
Phil & Teds Navigator stroller, single seater, red. I never really used this (I wasn't able to find the second seat attachment, which is the reason I bought it). Asking $100.
-
Softride Access Dura hitch-mounted bike rack (for 4 bikes). It's a great rack and has a good mechanism to get bikes out of the way to access the hatch - but I no longer own a car that has a trailer hitch. It's well-loved but works great. Asking $100.
-
Flashpoint Evolv 200 R2 flash kit. Works great, I just don't use it anymore. Asking $200
-
Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art lens for Canon EF mount, with B+W filter. It's a really amazing lens, I just end up leaving my 35mm Art on the camera all the time so I don't really use it. Asking $550.
-
Tamron A007 AF 24-70mm f2.8 SP DI VC USD Lens for Canon EF mount. It's a good lens, particularly for video with the VC feature, but I really just use primes so it's been sitting in a drawer for a long time. Asking $250.

Much as I support the ACAB sentiment, the “leave without pay” thing is almost certainly due to bureaucratic requirements. Like, when I was in the military you could drop a video tape of you doing cocaine off a naked toddlers ass on your commanding officers desk… you’d still “have a job” at the end of the day. You’d be in jail, but actually processing you out would require all the paperwork to go through all the proper channels and be rubber stamped by all the right muckity-mucks, and it would often take a while. I can only imagine it’s similar with the police to a degree. Leave without pay is more than likely just saying “we need the conviction on paper before we fully shit-can you.”
