If they sell Clark springs (which was proposed July 2021) they won’t have a place for students to go for the next crisis. It’s been used as a flex space for multiple schools when their facilities have failed. In the last 5 years it’s housed students from… I want to say George Mason Elementary? When they had a gas leak. And when a southside middle school closed for mold the kids went there. We can sadly expect more failed facilities as these schools are rapidly decaying with so little $ assigned to fix them each year. Statewide problem ($26.5B need) that’s hitting RPS first because it has a disproportionate number of 50-100 year old properties.

I am a career waiter and bartender and I'm here to say thay no matter where you dine, it is my assumption that if you are in anyway dissatisfied with a dish then you are under no obligation to pay for it unless you finish it.

However, It is still expected that you tip on the original cost of the food you were served, does that make sense?

If you do find yourself in a situation where you feel like the food isn't good enough for the cost then you should do this.

Stop eating the dish(es) and request from your waiter the manager. Tell the manager on duty that you appreciate the restaurants attempt to muse you with their cuisine but you are displeased with an offending item(s).

What they should do then is remove the items from the table and subsequently your bill.

Service may continue if you like.

Importantly, remember the items comped from your bill were still served to you and because of that you should still tip accordingly, based on the total of the order that you originally placed.

I hope that makes sense, have fun in Richmond dining because it is so important that we all have a good time with friends and family in hospitality settings.

Well, if you're not familiar- most businesses don't have to pay exorbitant licenses to operate. Casinos are alone in that category. Casinos are also taxed at a much higher rate than every other business. If other businesses had to pay 30% of gross revenue (not profit, revenue) to the state/locality, they would never open.

Meanwhile some businesses like Stone Brewery or say the Redskins, the City has to pay them to come here.

End of the day the City voted no, narrowly but still no. And now Petersburg can decide if it wants a predatory business that pays high taxes.

We live in Church Hill North and like it a lot. We have a large backyard and our house was really affordable. There’s definitely crime, but honestly, just stay to yourself in the obviously bad areas and you’ll be fine.

The market at 25th gets mixed reviews. Personally, I love it. It’s not the best grocery store in the world, but I think it’s better than VCU Kroger. Produce is not the best, but still better than Lidl or Aldi. We’re really conveniently located to White Oak and they have all the other options there (within 10 min). I like that if I need one onion, I can get it and be home within 5 min. The staff is really friendly.

I walk all over during the day (except near ocean grocery) and feel very safe.
