Luckily right now I only go up Thursday morning, stay with family, and come back Fridays. But have still managed to put 17k on my car in 10 months! I listen to a lot of podcasts and audio books and don’t mind the drive too much. I can usually get to merrifield in 1 hour 45, though Friday evening drive back can take two to three hours. Hoping to maybe train it once or twice a month to save some mileage!

Started smoking the brisket last night at 730PM. Just pulled it off at 0930 and it will be resting wrapped in towels until our guests arrive for brunch at 11. I'm 3 beers deep already and we haven't even had mimosas yet. It's a good day, yall.

I went to the gym first thing this morning, then made blueberry pancakes for the family. I'll probably take a walk with the dogs in a little bit, then I have some work to do, then football.

I literally woke up thinking about SmashedRVA this morning. We made our way down to Manchester to grab lunch before they left Hatch.

I swear every trip to Manchester I find something new or being built. Well, everything but that grocery store

Fun fact - before doing away with it Henrico redesigned the sticker from the county seal they used for years to a new one of the county flag. The new one was larger and turned out to be too big. They ended up doing away with it entirely because it violated state code on how large decals, etc could be on the windshield.

I've still got mine around here somewhere. I received it and never got around to putting it on my windshield before they did away with them.

In the early 2000’s I had a job in Woodbridge and commuted daily - 85 miles each way - brutal. Books on CD were my salvation. Train wasn’t really a viable option then; curious if it’d be better now. That year I put 40K miles on my car.
