While the fan is not manufactured to the extent of a literal tourist attraction, very strict historic preservation rules and monies interests have effectively frozen the neighborhood in time, there is a case to be made that this is not a long term healthy condition for urban areas which historically are very dynamic.

Heh, I had the opposite reaction to Maryland when I couldn’t pick up beer at a Food Lion in Ocean City.
The Short Pump ABC is quite nice, but I’ll have to check out a Total Wine next time I’m up there.

There are a dozen towns between Baltimore and short pump that are identical to short pump.
Just drive twenty minutes south of Baltimore and you’ll find a town full of chain restaurants, strip malls, and car dealerships. It’s the exact same thing as short pump

Stay closer to downtown , Shortpump is all commercialized overpriced chains. Let me know if you need any recs for food or entertainment!

Prem, not bad - there’s a handful of places that serious fans tend to hang out. I don’t think we’re a big MLS town in spite of DC United being up the road, though someone can correct me if I’m wrong.
We also have the Richmond Kickers who are fun to watch. No chainsawing lumberjack though.

If i were staying here from out of town, ive heard good things about Eileen RVA. Pretty nice airbnb/hotel in Church Hill, close to downtown, easy parking, maybe 15 min walk from the Pulse (rapid city bus, which happens to be free for the moment)

I’m looking for good bars and restaurants. Ideally, cheap eats like a fucking excellent donut or burger or fried rice.

You're not wrong it's still inequitable and should be expanded, but it was flat out false to claim we have a flat tax rate. We are ideologically aligned on this, but blurring the truth because it is convenient for you isn't how you should go about addressing it.

BBQ has numerous regional variations and it’s not possible to compare ZZQ with a generic BBQ spot. They specialize in Texas style. They should be compared against different joints who does Texas style.
As for prices, it’s expensive because ZZQ is on East Coast. They use USDA prime briskets and it’s lotta easier if someone is near or in Texas where there is a steady supply of beef.
