I used to live down Brook in Bellevue and can confirm that this Wawa makes the Boulevard one look like a gallery opening at The Met. I've been there when you had to get an employee to unlock the beer cave for you, been accosted in the parking lot for having no cash to give away, and have def waited over 20m for a sandwich before.

I think the point keeps being missed. I’ll do an analogy here. Brisket is akin to gas. The price varies from a location to a location due to logistics/transportation costs. Anyone can get a select or a choice brisket but high quality such as a prime from a reputable source (typically in these four states) will have to pay extra costs. Any Texas style BBQ joint worth their weight won’t be skimping on that particular area.

Out of bed for work but groggier and angrier than usual because the apartment building’s fire alarm went off twice yesterday - one at 2pm and one at 3am, and we had to pack up the animals to evacuate both times. Management never tells us what happened and it’s absurd

That’s where we differ. I think we’ve been there and for a while, shit like infrastructure is just catching up to the demographics

Edit to add: the one element I forgot to mention and people usually do is air travel within the northeast corridor.

I can take the 6am flight from RIC and be in Boston or NYC for a breakfast meeting

The megalopolis is real

This is either a hilarious troll or the dumbest question I’ve ever seen. The nova equivalent would be, let’s go to DC and stay in Reston or Vienna the whole time.

The city won’t bite, but it may nibble a little bit. If you’re into that sort of thing

Edit: I see that OP is actually not from the US, so probably not a troll. That’s my bad. Stay in the city, short pump is a glorified series of strip malls from former farms.

Been going to the short pump location for several years for Peter Chang’s, and a trip to Scott’s Addition one is more expensive with lower quality food. Maybe a few years back it was alright, but my friends and I have had noticeably worse or bad food experiences each time we’ve ended up there. Our table ordered 3 orders of the shredded tofu skins, and all three were notably salty with literal crystals of salt for added texture, as an example.
