To go off of this, my parents live in one of the pricier neighborhoods in the West End. The couple who moved next door to them about a year ago are from Manhattan and have full-time WFH positions. They are in their low-to-mid 30s and still on an NYC salary, so the husband was telling me they were fortunate their budget allowed for them to buy a nicer house here vs. a decent apartment in NYC.
It was kind of eye-opening for me on how drastically more expensive it is to live there lol.

We were a hidden jewel for the longest time. We’ve traded affordable housing in a great little city for a stupid bus line and breweries.

God bless you, I had a blast reading all the reviews this morning. Worth the rabbit hole.

Fair. I should add that it also looked like a good number of students and VCU employees were in line, too. Tacos are never a bad choice. I wonder if their food truck follows the $1.99 taco deal on Wednesdays.

Really play both parts 1 and 2. I played them last year after not having a playstation for over 12 years and I'm mad at myself that I waited this long.

We actually went with a townhome since it meets both of us hating mowing a lawn.

WTB bike lock, preferably a U-lock but open to a sturdy chain. I was going for a ride this weekend and couldn’t find mine.

We rented a really pretty $800 utilities included studio in Oregon Hill in 2016.
Now we own a similar place, which we rent out all included for $850. They are harder to find but they are still out there.

Man, we're about to drive around NC doing escape rooms and Greensboro is just a bit too far off of our route. Maybe I can find another reason to detour..

Well, the good thing about Dulles is that if you time it right, it's pretty painless. The interview process is quick and easy. We left here around 4 pm on a Saturday and were back by 7:45-8. All told we were at Dulles of around 40 minutes.

Oh cool it’s Econ 101 time. There’s a steady supply of beef everywhere in the Us. Saying otherwise is idiotic. Is it cheaper some places? Sure! Is there a steady supply? Yes.

People in parts of the city live in 170 year old houses. We'll be fine.

I don't know the difference between Sam's and Costco prices on chicken but you want to do research, you can buy a gift card to Costco. That way you get in and get their prices without membership

They go to just about every active construction site in town, usually they’re wrapped up by 12:30 or so in the City.

I was actually planning to call them if I didn't get a good suggestion here. I've heard that place is awesome.

New Grand Mart. Both locations have a Noodle and Friends inside that sells pretty solid Korean (their mabo dofu is unfortunate tho). I would argue that since 88 Garden is gone (RIP), Grand Mart is the place to go. I think the Midlothian location specificaly is the best quality wise. These aren't sit down service restaurants. You order at a counter and can eat there or take it to go.
Havent been to Korean Garden in a while but it was sort of unimpressive to me. The owners were friendly as far as I remember, but just couldn't believe they were open right next to 88 Garden because it just didn't compete. The store that they have at the back of the restaurant is also somewhat limited, New Grand Mart has a bigger selection of Korean ingredients.
Yewon way out on Hull is also decent but it's a bit overpriced which is why I don't recommend it as much, plus it's a bit of a drive if you are in the city.

You know, I didn't find it to be half as good in Ireland for some reason. But if it's irish style it might still scratch the itch. Thank you!

Yeah I've chatted with one of the employees, they drive to construction sites around the city and blow their cucaracha horn to get the construction workers to line up. When they were near my apartment I was always out of place in my work from home outfit buying tacos at 9:30AM

I used Appointment Scanner for a month Dec-Jan and only saw Richmond appointments show up once. 45 spots early in the morning and I missed them of course. Might have also been harder with all the holidays.
Ended up getting an appointment at Downtown DC office on a day that was convenient. Was able to drive up and park directly under the building. Appointment only took 5 minutes.
Just myself though. Difficult with a whole family...
