You presume to know what people’s dietary habits are just because they think you’re a bossy, pompous ass. All this acting like you’re better than everybody else and you were eating flesh less than a year ago. Fuckin clown.

I think it's a really bad idea, what about all the kids that live near those schools, they'd be forced to get driven/ ride the bus to a futher school. I hated my rps high school experience as too many crazy kids already, more would only contribute to the problem for kids that aren't wild. Trying to compact all those kids in a few schools is overwhelming for everyone involved, there'd be a fight everyday. And they wonder why nobody wants to be a teacher, those that have never attended an RPS high school can't relate it's literal insanity.

Where are you getting that from my response? I want to see the city grow. I just recommend folks don’t walk around acting like something they’re not. A transplant can certainly become a Richmonder, but VCU kids from NOVA don’t get to claim that. If they stick around for a decade or so after graduating, then sure.

You couldn’t pay me all the money in the world to move back to Baltimore. Richmond is a much more livable city - quality of schools, affordability of housing, cost of living, etc. I moved here in 1994 and wouldn’t think of going back.

Yeah my family are all still in Baltimore county. Can’t say I love it there. Wife and I moved to Richmond area from Texas recently so parents are still happy to have us close and to drive a few hours to see us, and I’m not in a rush to go hang out in Baltimore until they get burned out on the drive down šŸ˜‚

The house I purchased a few years ago had elevated radon levels. Seller was required to have a mitigation system installed. I don't know who he used, but I believe the cost was less than 3K. They drill a hole.in your basement floor and shove a pipe into it and run it through an outside wall, connected to a small fan that draws the air out of the soil and expels it above your roof line. A quick Google search for radon contractors will get you started. But before you go all in on a system, run a few more tests. You can hire a company to set up a machine that samples the air over a 24 or 48 hour period and get accurate level measurements. Cost for this test was a couple hundred bucks three years ago.

Take home tests like the one provided by VDH are notoriously unreliable. The first one we did gave us a report of 8 pCi/L. Did a second done in the same spot for the same amount of time gave us 5 pCi/L.

Got an electronic monitor and it averaged out around 2.5 pCi/L.

It’s pricey but it’s worth it for the peace of mind.

This guy did a few in our neighborhood. We’ve all been happy with his work. He charged a flat rate $1500 fee for a similar sized house, but that was 5 years ago.

It's just dumb luck if you're exactly calibrated because tires can vary in actual size vs the numbered size. More common in lifted trucks, but the bigger the tire the more your speedometer will be off and most people don't bother to change their speedometer gear to match the new tire size. It's not unusual for a regular car to be off by 1-2 mph though.

I apologize in advance for dodging your question by saying better is subjective, and also ignoring your geography requirements, but have ya'll tried Saucy's BBQ Brisket in Petersburg & Hopewell?

My first trip I got the pulled pork, which was good but nothing crazy. The second time I chose brisket and I'm still thinking about it. So unexpected and so delicious.

I wanna say they (grocery stores) started doing that because it's a liability thing.

Off the top of my head that I can remember, there's a few members of the family that used to own Eagle, a Federal judge, some VP for Six Flags, and one of the Silva guys from UFC have homes there, want to say it's Joe Silva but I can't remember.

Vast majority of customers I dealt with that lived there were 50+. That neighborhood was also by far the biggest of the asshole homeowners of Eagle's neighborhoods.
