The menu was my favorite film of last year! So good. Laughed out loud multiple times but also was in such suspense! I can’t believe it wasn’t nominated for an Oscar.

Have you called the Office of Health Benefits? Their number is 804-225-3642 and their email address is ohb@dhrm.virginia.gov. Sometimes they take a few days to get back to you but they are the ones who can point you in the right direction. I work at DHRM so hopefully this helps.

Whatever timepiece you settle on, please consider adding it to your homeowners or renters insurance. Make a copy of your receipt and keep it with your important documents.

I agree, and good teachers are where the rubber meets the road in education. Good teachers deserve good pay, good facilities, and good administration. All of these cost money that isn't there without full, or close to full, utilization. And even if you could snap your fingers and get full utilization, there are the challenges of years of deferred maintenance due to years of chronic underfunding. There aren't easy answers and there are way more paths that lead to failure than success. The only way out is to honestly acknowledge the challenges and tradeoffs and come up with a balanced solution with the correct incentives for long term success.

A little late to the game but I'm finally watching GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) with Alison Brie. I'm a former PBS kid so am also enjoying Masterpiece Theatre's "All Creatures Great and Small" (feel-good, 1940's rural England) and "Miss Scarlet and the Duke" (badass lady detective in Victorian England).

Everybody is saying The Last of Us, for good reason, it's excellent. So I'm just going to say:

CHAINSAW MAN (on hulu). I'm not into Anime, and only occasionally watch it. CS was a standout for me last year. Both that show and The Bear are must watches if you have Hulu.

I really hate to say this, and maybe I don’t fully believe it, but maybe there needs to be some sort of regulation that allows or encourages employers to pay salaries based on home of record given the explosion of WFH. Like I said, I haven’t fully thought that idea through so I’m sure there are issues with it. I’m just not sure what else to do because the populations of these major cities (NYC, LA, Phoenix, etc.) are so astronomically larger than RVA that there’s NO way we can support more than a minute influx, and that’s not even counting DC/NoVa. At some point, RVA could primarily be comprised of WFHers who migrate here from major cities while pulling in salaries twice what locals make. It feels no different than what’s happened to places like Aspen where millionaires turned it into a playground locals can no longer afford (albeit for very diff reasons).
