Seems like this post sparks some much needed conversation that some folks can't grasp yet :/

Yes this is a perfect example of how a broken system keeps basic features like sidewalks and crosswalks from being built. The goal is to find people who don’t shrug and say “that’s the way it works”.

The article illustrates how involved and bureaucratic the process is. So much red tape. It took 2½ years just for VDOT to approve the style for the shelters 🤦🏻♂️.
>But similar examples of red tape exist with every project, according to Torres. She said installing resources requires a lengthy approval process, often involving "lots of coordination" with jurisdictions, private owners, urban design committees, and even state entities.

They lied. They said they checked the building twice and found nothing. The camera shows them upstairs for under 3 minutes. There is no way, in the entire 11 minutes they were in the building, they checked it twice, with thermal gear.
They did not do their best, and the video shows them just milling about. They jimmied the lock because they were worried about the fire alarm, but then did not check the building. Not saying schools bares no blame.

Reply to 'Dolly is part of the answer': Advocates spread Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library free-book program throughout Virginia by pot_of_hot_koolaid
It is cool Dolly donates lots of books, but the answer is funding more public educational services not funneling more money to non-profit tax havens.

Jasper, and Grandstaff & Stein are all that come to mind.
The folks who own The Jasper are opening another place in Church Hill called The Emerald Lounge sometime this year.

This shit is laughable, not aspirational. Every bus stop should have at least a bench. Just buy them and put em out there. “322 By 2027” that’s 64 a year.

Figuring out how to replace the Mayo/14th bridge without closing it. That's gonna really screw Manchester and the spillover traffic everywhere else will be awful. But I realize they have probably studied this option.

If the market crashes, most of us (probably you included) won't be able to afford a house, it will just be a bunch of wealthy people who survived the crisis and swooped down to buy the property for a profit, again.

First, I'm sorry for your and your mom's loss. If you're not getting a timely response from the DHRM, you might want to reach out to her State representee with your issue, as they might be able to light a fire under their butts...
