I know this isn’t cost effective, but pedestrians should never have to cross more than 2 lanes. At that point, there should be infrastructure in place for crossing 3 or more moving lanes of traffic.

That leaves neighborhoods intact as is, but allows for traffic and people to avoid each other on busier roads. I’ve worked so many auto vs pedestrian accidents since the shutdown. It seems disproportionate to before that.

Isn’t a car a “reasonably foreseen hazard” for a pedestrian to pay attention to? When you’re on the road, in a car or on foot, you need to assume that everyone around you is 1. Stupid 2. Not paying attention. If you don’t want to get hit by a car, pay attention.

It's vintage trash reality television taking me right back to 2003-2004 FOX. We were looking for something super trashy to watch and this fits the bill. It's gotta be the cringiest thing put on television in a long time.

Oh, interesting. I found the BBC version first, and enjoyed it, but then started watching the CBS version and I think I like it even more. Both are pretty funny though.

Apparently all we watch are shows about rich people being terrible as I just finished season 3 of Succession (Roman sending the pic to his dad by mistake was about the hardest I've cringed and laughed at a show in ages) and also just watched both seasons of White Lotus.

Haven’t been in any homes in Greengate, but I’ve worked on over a hundred in West Broad Village. If they’re cut from the same cloth, which I believe they are, they’re absolute garbage even by new construction standards. Excessive moisture issues, terrible air balancing between floors, undersized duct work, and overall shitty construction. I believe they’re all plumbed in CPVC, which is gonna be interesting in the next 5-10 years as hot water pipes start to crumble away in the walls and bulkheads. I just don’t get what people see in that area.

My friends and I started watching survivor last year and we are hooked! Hoyoooooh🎵

Season 40 is awesome but unfortunately now you have 20 spoilers. I did the same thing, that was the 2nd season I watched. However, I’m still surprised sometimes because a lot of those players were on multiple seasons where they didn’t win…so you never truly know

A lot of people that hunt with dogs just leave them to die in the woods at the end of the season because it’s cheaper to get a new puppy than it is to properly care for a dog for it’s life. Would not suggest adopting out any dog to someone who participates in that archaic blood sport.

I'm guessing the argument could continue forever. Someone Will say they can source Texas-bred prime beef at the same price in Virginia as it would be in Texas and someone else will say it's not hand selected quality, quality degrades with shipping, etc. Someone else will say that it's a little bit more but not to justify ZZQ price, and someone will retort that it's all about supply and demand, etc etc. Someone else will say that beef from Texas is not a better than good quality beef. From Virginia, etc. Etc etc

Drivers need to operate in a way that they can avoid reasonably foreseen hazards in an urban environment.

As long as we equate pedestrians “paying attention” with drivers “paying attention.” We’ll continue to never fix anything.

Drivers pose a bigger risk, they should be paying MORE attention.

I bet if you get minimum jail time for hitting a person, drivers will miraculously start paying more attention.

Is anyone else getting a fedex from "COUNTY OF HENRICO/PUBLIC WORKS"? I have no idea what they would send me via fedex envelope. figure they would use USPS.

What percentage of investigations following pedestrian deaths on roads don't even conclude with charges filed?

Beyond ACAB, if pedestrians are dying and we can't even find evidence that the drivers are breaking the law much less prove in court the driver was breaking the law... law enforcement isn't going to help.
