Thank you. This has been the general advice I’ve received from the fathers I’ve talked to today; it will be okay, you’ll figure it out, it will be great. It’s still hard for me to believe it, but hearing that message be so consistent among fathers I respect has been reassuring

Being a dad is fucking awesome. I wasn't really sure I wanted kids most of my adult life. Mid 30s we decided to do it, and I'm so glad we did. Kids are the best. Not going to lie . . . it's not easy, but it's also amazing in so many ways. Seriously, congratulations.

I don't love that cyclists in Richmond routinely break traffic laws.

However I also fucking hate that it's nearly impossible to safely bike around Richmond, law abiding or not. We are not a bike or walking friendly city and it shows. For god sake, Virginia specifies that bike lanes first and foremost are a motor vehicle disaster recovery zone. I know that I would never feel safe biking down Government Road or Williamsburg Avenue in the bike lanes because people drive like maniacs.

With the amount of traffic, pedestrian, and biker deaths Richmond sees year after year you'd think leadership would consider the system at fault.

> I get that cities are built for cars

This mentality sucks. Lots of cities aren't built for cars -- Paris, Amsterdam, Venice are all examples of this. America needs to catch up. Cars ruin cities.
