That’s the safest maneuver when Belvidere has greens in both directions. When Franklin has a green and the crosswalk is counting down, the logical and legal westbound bike move is to go straight through the intersection. But you 100% have to bike defensively and assume the cars don’t see you because turning cars rarely yield there.

Hear me out..even if you’re not gluten free, try 521 biscuits and waffles. 100% gluten free for those that need it and for those that don’t it’s still incredible and so delicious

I Googled "trainspotting RVA" and didn't find much. (That's what the hobby is called.) Google also told me that freight trains don't necessarily run on schedules.

You may just have to keep your ears open for trains and keep track of busy days or times of day. Freight trains run more frequently just before the winter holidays, and a few months before the seasons change. Traffic should be picking up soon with summer clothing coming in.

I've had to wait as a pedestrian (with a bike, I was new in town and didn't understand why 200 cyclists were all biking together) and several people shouted out to me to join them. Kids, families, teens, grandparents, college peeps, all having fun and cycling.

I wasn't stupid enough to cut through them and thought it looked like good community fun. I literally can't imagine being bitter and angry about waiting like five minutes.

Jesus Christ you people need to live a little. Angry over waiting and people having safe but inconvenient fun. Truly ridiculous.

Nobody asked but I have this little dark joke that if I go to Sheetz for gas after dark I feel like I'm going to get kidnapped. If I go to Wawa after dark for gas I feel like I'm going to get assaulted.

Wawa is goated for that gobbler and the coffee with the tasty crumbly ooey gooey cakes they cleverly sit near the coffee bar.

My dream would essentially turn Franklin/Monument into an East-West bike highway that runs from Willow Lawn to Main Street Station. Mixture of tunnels under bigger roads, and 2/3 of secondary streets that intersect it with modal filters and the remainder with bike-priority signal and intersection design.
