I think the restaurant before Brun was a Mexican street food concept? The lighting was too bright, the portions were small and it was expensive.

I grew up here, moved to a gorgeous tropical location for 15 years, and moved back. The things I appreciate most:
- The trees. It’s so beautiful living in a forest and I never realized it until I came back.
- Summer nights with the grassy smell and the chirping symphony.
- Drivers are (usually) so kind and chill in central VA.
- You get all 4 seasons very distinctly, but the winters are still mild and like somebody else commented, the relatively small number and size of natural disasters.

Paintball. I can't think of anything that would more fun when I was a 14 yr old boy. Wish this was more popular 25 yrs ago.

When I worked graveyard shift, the only wawa was staples mill. Then sheetz was built on broad so now we had another place to eat at 3am. The only other option was waffle house. Lived and died by wawa...but sheetz had fries and they also have black olives and I'm a sucker for them in a sub. Bread was always hard at sheets too for some reason...smh

It won’t help you on that spot, but other for other places in Richmond where Amtrak runs you can use their Track My Train page. It’s good for that same rail a little further East through Shockoe bottom, or the James river bridge.

Pretty expensive for what it is. But understandable for inflation I guess.

Mostly my experience, too. While Maverik stations out west (Idaho, Utah) are pretty legit, but not like this.

The trestles that pass over the t pot connect Lynchburg etc to Fulton yard. Its typically coal trains, but you get some mixed freight randomly. There is no real schedule besides.... daily.

So much this. I grew up in a house with a dad who didn’t want children, and it was obvious to me every day of my childhood. No child should grow up feeling unwanted.
