u/ConstantRunnerVA The free support group that I'm running for fathers is centered around exploring a "conscious parenting" approach--mindful, holistic way to parenting that emphasizes awareness, listening and mutual respect. The group starts tonight (Tuesday 2/21) and runs for 8 sessions. Reach out to the email address on the flyer to register or you can send me a direct message on Reddit if you have any questions.

Short pump.

It’s got shopping.
Tree lined windy roads.
Great schools.
2 hours to dc.
2 hours to beach.
2 hours to blue ridge.
Almost no traffic.
4 seasons of weather.

Wife and I both work remote, short pump is our choice of anywhere in us

Its still a bit cold to catch turtles running around like they do in the summer, but the lake at UR often has turtles basking on bits of wood sticking out of the water. The "eco-corridor" also should have a bunch other neat lizards and whatnot to spot too. But there are some snapping turtles so dont go sticking your fingers in anythings mouth

You are in way better of a situation than lots of people, myself included, when this happened. Every child needs a dad, even if y'all don't stay together "forever", you are going to be a dad, 90% of being a good dad is showing up consistently. Another thing, don't be the woman's doormat, take charge, lead the family, she will respond positively to not having make every decision or be asked about everything. Sincerely, dude who got girl he was dating pregnant at 23, her 20. Still together 20 years later. Good luck, stay you, be your best you.

I remember, after moving down here from a part of the country that doesn't have these kinds of gas stations, someone at work asking everyone if they wanted to get lunch at Wawa. I kept thinking, "we're going to a gas station for lunch...on purpose?". Little did I know that the food would be half way decent and the coffee is pretty pretty pretty good.

Not related, but if you have family and friends there still near the site of the earthquakes I am sorry for anything they may currently be going through. The lack of international assistance must be incredibly frustrating. I know "thoughts and prayers" can't do much of anything, but I hope they know they have not been forgotten.
