I've always seen them on the south side of the Potterfield Bridge when I walk it.

It was a tequila bar called Flora and they did, in fact, serve some food. However, my idea is to go with something that does not require you remain at the restaurant to eat, meaning the quality of the food cannot degrade by too much when it is carry out or delivery. Each concept that has opened up was meant to be dine in first and carry out second. I’m suggesting a spot that is carry out/delivery first and dine in second. Cater to that college crowd but find the balance in quality and price point.

To me I like having 4 full seasons without us being dumped on for winter or summer. Seems like my ideal climate has moved north somewhat but Virginia was pretty good for a couple of decent snows and didn't get as hot as it is further south.
Kind of in the middle temperature wise while experiencing it all. In New York their winters are absolutely brutal and in the summer the south is unbearable.

Ok Bro, time to be the most downvoted guy in the history of Reddit.
First Congratulations but now comes the fun part. Make sure it's yours. Your saying she's 35 and to me that means her bio clock alarm went off and she wanted a baby NOW! I've read way too many stories about guys thinking that it's theirs when it's not. There are NON-Invasive tests to show paternity.
Prenatal DNA testing makes it possible to confirm paternity as early as 7 weeks into the pregnancy, using a non-invasive method to provide highly accurate results. At no risk to your health or the health of your unborn child, this lab test can establish a DNA link to the child's biological father.
I know your scared and exited about being a Dad but before she pops the kid out and it comes out looking like a different race or showing 0 of your traits get a test to avoid the baby trap. Too many women these days want to screw around and have a nice guy chump pay for their baby knowing full well that the child isn't theirs. Hell look at some of the Youtube or Reddit stories, I read one yesterday about a guy with 5 kids, none of them were his after 27 years of marriage, his wife was screwing his cousin while he worked 80 hour weeks to provide for his family. don't be that guy. You can pass it off as checking for Birth Defects or ask the doctor quietly but do it now before your on the hook for another mans child.

Rockwood Park. At any of the waterside spots you’ll find some! We saw a couple hundred last spring sunning themselves.

The 30 years of weather I've experienced here can't compare to even that one night i got stuck in a storm in Kansas.

The coffee itself is comparable at both places, Wawa wins with more variety there. Where Wawa really stands out to me is the coffee bar with a wide selection of self-serve creamers and sweeteners, versus the Sheetz mechanized approach.

This is actually what the Virginia is lover's is supposed to mean.
Virginia is for mountain lovers, Virginia is for beach lovers, Virginia is for wine lovers. It runs the gamut.

Agreed, it's nice for a worst case hurricane scenario to be "oh no, we lost power for a week and can't drive some roads due to trees/flooding" rather than "oh no, our entire community has been destroyed and several of our friends drowned"

Father of 3 boys checking in.
You basically need 2 things at this age, food and fun.
Cheap food is pizza at Costco.
Free:
Mountain biking at Pocohantas or Belle Isle
Skateboarding at local skatepark
Organize a scavenger hunt in your neighborhood or a park.
Buy a couple of red ryder BB guns or youth archery kits
Play the start with a penny and trade up game
Paid but on the cheaper side:
Richmond Draftcade is pretty sweet ($10 per person)
The spring race at RIR can be done pretty cheap for kids.
Take the train to DC for the day. Tickets for kids are 50% off right now

Lenscrafters at willow lawn, a bit pricey, but convenient. They may have cheaper frames, but I'm a sucker for Raybans.

Ralph Sampson in conjunction with the community helped build that playground IIRC. Remember going to a basketball camp/clinic at Arthur Ashe center and winning the rebounding award and a giant check being presented for the playground. I remember being really upset for having to wear a purple shirt and took my aggression out on the backboard. Have a picture of me and Sampson somewhere and I’m so short I don’t even reach his waste.

Swift Creek Reservoir and the lake in Pocohontas State Park both will have them in abundance as it warms up.
